I have a Rutan working dog who has no ploblem letting any coyote know to keep away. I go backpacking about every other month. My 39 pound Old Boston Bulldog had chased a coyote away from my camp. He is fearless. Thanks Nathaniel.
Strong, healthy, keen dogs. I have not spoken to him in some years. But if he is honestly looking for some more "partners" he should get a hold of me. He knows who I am.
There are real Old Boston Bulldogs from the old breeding stock from back in the day. In the backwoods Appalachian Mountains. They are not called boston terriers, by these breeders. They have always called them Boston bulldogs, or Boston bulls. These mountain folk and their families, have bread them forever (since the early 1900’s)and hog hunt with them. I have one that is pushing 50lbs. Tough as nails..The breeder I used was located near the Citico mountains, In NC..
The Bulldog Social Club Podcast I think you’ll be glad you did. I thought about all the different bully breeds but these Boston Bulldogs are something else. Strong drive, love people/kids, willingness to learn- so smart. Not to mention, everyone compliments on how good he looks.
People can talk a lot of crap but the original breeders of the Boston terrier would be ashamed of the way the bald head shape of their dog has tend to be back in the day when they first started breeding the first American breed dog was a Boston terrier and it looked more like a pitbull or a Staffordshire bull terrier they were from 20 to 60 lb but they could not hold their own inside of a pit against the real American Pitbull terrier so the women like the colors and decided they would make good little pets so they bred them down to the what we see today but the original breeders would be saddened to see that because their dog was a robust go getter! It has balls as big as their head these were tough little dogs back when I was a kid in the 60s and 70s my dad has some 40 pounders that would whoop every dog in the neighborhood one even tucked on two great danes at the same time running from one to the other I love that dog his name was boots I sure do miss him a lot of good memories with that dog anyways that's my two cents so quit hating people to the original Boston terrier look more like a pit bull terrier and it is the first American truebred dog
A dog without a purpose is no dog at all in my view. Purpose, health & function should be the number one objective in producing good dogs. Everything else is secondary or a byproduct.
I mite have had the biggest obb that came from rutan roots... yenko. 65lbs.. his mom was Lexus and his dad was Merle.... passed away last year at 13.. miss my bubba every second of every day.
Just a bright respectable approachable young man with his heart in the right place. Nathaniel mentioned him when asked about other people involved with him. For years I knew of the wired/rutan "rivalry" so to speak but when I went digging, sure enough it was Paris who openheartedly popped up and brought me up on what he knew of what was going on as well as some insight into what is being worked with in the background of the blood. All good stuff. I'd feed those dogs any day.
Always thought it makes sense to take the BT and bread it back to the SBT or smaller game APBT to get closer to the Boston bulldog. Those BBG are really just a SBT mix
At least he's honest he straight-up said thathe ain't going to compare is dogs to the real American Pitbull terrier because that has been the most refined dog on the planet the only other dog that I see you can compare would be a Greyhound
We have what we were told was just a very large Boston Terrier at around 40lbs. We very quickly noticed that he is very prey driven though. He loves to sit in the window and watch rabbits and birds and what not. I may have missed it in the video, but is there any way to distinctively tell a BT from the Boston Bulldog? Not many results come from google. Thanks!
