I can’t believe we are actually getting a remaster of YotR. The guitar tones and songwriting on that album was so influential to me at that part of my life.
YOTR one of the most slept on albums ever anyone I've introduced Failure to also love YOTR equally especially Say Goodbye can't wait for all stuff introduced here today🤘🤘🤙🤙
Rabbit hole, strange eyes, what's coming - frighteningly good tunes! The bass work in particular, the way you work power chords into the bass parts, such a signature sound, no one else pulls it off like that. Heavier than the heaviest metallers. Thank you
Missed you, Ken! Greetings from Brazil! Me and the wife always watch your videos as soon as they come up! A YOTR repress on vinyl is a dream come true, can't wait to finally have this masterpiece on wax!
I cannot fucking wait to hear that Year of the Rabbit remaster. Those issues with it being bright and loud we’re my only gripe, but Hunted has got to be one of the best songs you’ve ever written. I cannot wait.
What an incredible show that was in Baltimore last year in June. Best concert I’ve ever been to. Glad to see you’re back on RU-vid Ken! PS: So fucking cool you’re planning to re-release some Year of The Rabbit stuff, in my opinion it’s some of your most underrated work.
Wow Ken, great to hear from you. I Love Failure, please keep making music, I love the classic old albums, but I love the new albums. I placed my order for this Blu Ray, I actually ordered two, one for me, one for my brother, they arrived, I have watched/ listened to it daily. the 5.1 mix is amazing!!!!! I remember back in December 2022 watching the show online, ordered it through veeps and really enjoying the livestream. Many of us during the stream in chat, said please Failure put this out as an official release. Thank you Ken, Greg, and Kellii for playing an amazing set last year on the tour, and you guys sounded perfect. Your really amazing. Thank you for officially releasing this, you should be proud of it and it will stand the test of time. Your music is smart, honest, timeless, and it sounds amazing. Any chance you will also release We Are Hallucinations on CD? I will be buying the vinyl, but the 80's born kid that I am still loves CD. Year Of The Rabbit, I still listen to that album a lot in my rotation, the vinyl release sounds interesting, I thought the CD version had a great sound to it. Hope to see Failure on tour again soon!!!!!!
5:27 any plans for official releases of these early demos? I've had a number of them in my digital library for a long, long time (downloaded from an old fansite that no longer exists AFAIK), but they're low-bitrate MP3s so they don't sound very good. Presumably the ones on YT came from the same files. The fretless bass really makes those compositions shine. Thank you for the update!
So sad I missed your last tour, hopefully next time you go I'll get to see you guys again, always a great to see you guys. Luckily, I could snag that disk to hold me over. Also, Rabbit defined my days in high school, cannot wait for that vinyl.
I saw We Are Hallucinations when it was available for stream and loved every second. I felt it really captured the energy of being there really well. I'll definitely need to get both the bluray and that Year of the Rabbit remaster.
Ken you guys are a big inspiration to me and I connected so much to the music and lyrics. You’re great. I’m so stoked I found your channel. I’m Jimi, I play guitar and write songs. I have over 200 songs easy. Haaaa seriously bro, if you’re still reading this, Fantastic Planet helped get my ex off drugs. I made her listen to it and it changed her life as it did mine. Thanks for what you do. Peace! HMU Haa late
Hot damn! Time well spent! Looking forward to all of it! Been listening to SOTLS a lot lately, wishing I had all the live ON & YOTR stuff you did with First Wave Hello. Saw y’all at the Parish Room in Austin, it’s in my top five of best live shows I’ve attended! Much love! Y’all fuckin rock!
even though its been a year, i still listen to failure, and i still watch the complex mixing videos you do... thank you so much for all the art you create!! such a great musician...
I should have been the target audience for Failure in the 90s, but somehow they eluded my attention. Happy to have discovered them recently--better late than never, right?--and can't wait to get to a show.
I was psyched to see a new video on your channel. I've missed these. I was fortunate enough to see you guys play in Cambridge, MA last summer and it was an incredible show supporting an amazing album. It was great to finally see you guys play live after not getting a chance in the 90s and the shows we had tickets to in NY getting cancelled due to covid.
I'm in for anything and everything you are pressing. Already ordered the blu ray... Please, please come to Boston again! Best of luck with all your pursuits. Failure is better than ever.
Great to see the RU-vid channel getting some love! Appreciate the updates and ALL you do, Ken (which is a lot). Can't wait to see and hear all the awesome-ness!
Hi Ken. Somehow I found your channel a while back. I was a fan of your band "On." Back in 2000 I heard Soluble Words on 91x and thought it was a really cool track. Me and my sister were such music fanatics back then that when we heard a cool new song on the radio one of us would buy the album. So we went to down to Tower Records and each bought a copy of Shifting Skin. We also saw you live at Canes in San Diego, it was a great show, I think she even met you off stage. It was Sat. June 10 2000, still have the ticket stub. I haven't heard your other bands but definitely want to check them out. Take care man!
AMAZING. Great to see you here again. I am still hoping you do a production video on the bass tone in Hunted one day...every time I hear that, I'm like, HOW HOW HOW did he get that tone! Can't wait for the documentary.
Wow, YotR update! this was unexpected, thanks!. While I like YotR a lot, I remember Jeff Gaber's ephemeral band called The Joy Circuit. They reminded me of Failure, they were also great. I always loved you two guys. Don't know where is he now, apparently making music for films. I'd love to see him again, though it will be easier to see Failure during the next tour. Love!
I went back and watched all your YT videos and was wondering if we'd get some more soon, so I couldn't click on this fast enough. Really looking forward to the doco.
It's been a FEW minutes... (tapping foot) OK. I'll cut you some slack. THIS TIME. Wait..? YOTR remastered on vinyl??? TAKE ME MONEYYYY! YOUSE IS FORGIVEN! 🤣😁❤❤❤
Welcome back, King. You still have the best camera setup in the biz. Just out of curiosity, have you been stockpiling any new potential Failure riffs lately?
Yes, looking forward to all of this, particularly YOTR. When you led into that I completely thought you were going to say ON, but YOTR news is almost as good 😁
@@Louis-wp3fq I think people slept on In The Future because of the kerfuffle with Pledgemusic and the pandemic, that one's my personal recent favorite.
Heard & a fan of everything you’ve ever made. YOTR is my favorite thing you’ve done. That last Failure was a real slam dunk too. Psyched to hear anything you make.
I loved Year of the Rabbit, I sat up in my seat when you mentioned it. I would totally buy it if I was into vinyl. Also the YOTR cover of I Wanna Be Adored is incredible.
Man I’m so excited to hear year of the rabbit remastered, it’s one of my favorite albums. And I can’t wait to see the documentary. If it’s possible ever, remastering the Golden album on vinyl would be amazing, or even just copy pasting it on vinyl. I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Mange is my favorite song of yours and if that album was on vinyl or released as an actual cd I’d be all over it.
Rad to see We Are Hallucinations and Year of the Rabbit are being pressed by Third Man, as a big fan of both Failure and Jack White I approve! Will definitely be snagging the Blu Ray soon and I can’t wait for the documentary. Thank you for the update Ken🤘🏻
