I believe the damselflies that you saw were Boreal Bluets or Northern Bluets. The white fuzzy flowers are bistort. The fireworks flower is Porter Lovage Osha. The pink/purple flowers with the little hats are Elephant Heads. Love these videos. Congrats for halfway and into Wyoming. Wyoming will not disappoint either.

Nice contrast between this video and the previous one. Previous one being more about hardships, this one being more idyllic. Kudos to whoever picked the music near the end of the video. It enhances that pastoral feeling without being too loud as to not mask your narration. What a milestone! Looking forward to the next one.

Steamboat is my favorite town in Colorado and I took my first trip there roughly around the time you filmed this. They have a farmer's market every Saturday in the summer and the trail crews that service the Mt. Zirkel and Sarvis Creek wilderness areas usually have a pop up there. Always good seeing the Mt. Zirkel Wilderness.

Think you got through this section about three days later. But how cool to see the same scenery through a different perspective. Dixie you have inspired me to hike the AT. It’s something that’s been in the back of my mind for years. I was a stay at home mama for 23 years, I got divorced, and then I went back to school for nursing. My kids are grown, and now it’s my turn. I’ve recently lost a best friend and a brother. I see people’s lives forever altered at work everyday. It’s time to make this dream a reality. I love your style as I am a southern girl myself. Keep following your dreams. AT 2020

My least favorite part of hiking is mosquitos. I remember hiking up to mist creek pass in yellowstone as my first back country hitch. About halfway, I sucked a mosquito down the wrong pipe and stood there coughing for 5 minutes. Then minor coughing to dislodge it for the next hour or so... well immediately after I got it and felt great, ANOTHER one decided to fly right on down and I suffered for another hour 😂

Another well done vid. Thanks for bring us along. If you take a chunk or two of mosquito coil with you, you can fumigate your tent. The little buggers may fall on you like rain for a little while but it is better than getting bit while you sleep. This works well on a double wall shelter, not sure how your single wall vents the fumes. Be sure to lie low on the flow and out of the fumes when fumigating.
