Some analysts have stated that King Gyanendra’s 2004 take over of the government and executive power was unconstitutional but certainly not illegal. 1. Successive PMs had failed to hold elections causing a trend of stagnant government 2. He had inherited a Maoist insurgency which was increasingly funded by the Indian regime 3. His father King Mahendra had done the same before, staging a coup and banning multiparty system, however Mahendra justified his takeover with strong industrial development and strengthening of nationality

I never really thought of it this way. But changed my perspective. Monarchy is needed. If Nepal was like India or any other large country, a monarchy wouldn't work, But for a country like Nepal Monarchy is required. Also, I realized I don't feel any form of belonging towards Nepal because I have no guardian in Nepal. There are many people like me who don't have anyone in Nepal. But had there been a king, I would have felt a sense of belonging.

The king was always going to be problematic for India. 5. SD Muni's section in Nepal in Transition, Cambridge Press, has completely removed the facade of all party leaders, with exact foot-notes and references detailing each events. 6. AND MOST IMPORTANT : POLITICAL PARTIES OF NEPAL HAVE COMPLETELY BROKEN THE TRUST OF COMMON PEOPLE. So much so that, people have no faith in Nepal as a country and want to leave NEPAL at any cost possible.

He is such a strong and resilient person, and I really admire his work to help Nepal. This podcast has urged me to do more to help Nepal. Constitutional monarchy is necessary in context of nepal . Province should be terminated coz it’s costing us more . Members of upper house should be decreased. There are lots of things to be improved especially in the field of economic or else within no time nepal will be facing a serious problem of deflation. To balance the deficit members of parliament are obliged to pass those bills which are against the country. Such as mcc , trearty of koshi mahakali upper arun and all .

For national integration & national unity there should have a strong and impartial dejure national head. In that situation monarchy of Nepal must have reinstate in Nepal to protect from being failure state. In fact present situation is deterioting because of existing constitution. Political parties of Nepal should think deeply & analytically for the welfare, development & prosperity of Nepal and Nepalese people.

We should be realistic in our hopes that the former King Gyanendra’s return will not be the solution to all our woes. However, what King Gyanendra and the monarchy if reinstated could do is be a ceremonial figurehead, a constitutional King, as the defender of our faiths and a symbol of national unity, a figure above politics, who would be our last resort vested with powers to veto Parliament’s decision that is not in the interest of Nepal. Like the British royal family, the monarchy in Nepal can be a cultural asset and a national soft power that can boost and elevate our much needed national image and prestige in the global stage

But Gyanendra’s family has not been an asset to him as the King, especially the one who is supposed to be the most important, his son Paras who has been a stain in the family just like his uncle Dhirendra who was eventually exiled for his many misdemeanors, and his great uncle Prince Basundhara
