Get tickets to WICKED: www.broadway.com/shows/wicked/ Jonah Platt celebrates his birthday backstage at WICKED and hangs out with co-star Robin de Jesus.
That was the most beautiful birthday song ever! And idk why but I find it so interesting that they're just sitting doing an episode of fiyero time while Defying Gravity is on in the background, I wouldn't be able to fucos haha
What I'm wondering, is how they get Boq into the Tin Man outfit so quickly? Like I know his outfit is already grey, but they have to make his hair and face grey in like 20 seconds.
they have an actor in the makeup in the left side of the wardrobe so when elphaba wheels boq around, they switch places and the lines are lip synced by the tin man character for the scene
Now THATS how theatre people sing Happy Birthday!! XD one of the best parts of theatre fellowship is the awesome singing and harmonizing to "happy birthday" XD
4:38 I LOVEEEEEE HEARING THE OPENING ANNOUCMENT AND THEN THE ORCHRESTRA STARTS PLAYING NO ONE MOURNS! HOLY CRAP. THAT IS THE TIME FOR A MOMENT OF SILENCE!!
I think I was the only one crying at curtain call.... Don't judge me... One day I will be on that stage. Or any broadway stage for that matter. Ps. Love the vlogs
+Chris Will I'm sure you will! i actually got to be on that stage last night after i saw the show because apparently my aunt has an in with a swing in the show. It was amazing. Unlike anything i can imagine. One regret is i was too speechless to sing or even talk so i didn't get to sing on a broadway stage. but one day i'll hopefully return and get to sing every night :)
+ Chris Will Curtain calls are pure magic. I would also love to be on Broadway one day.... I did get to be on the stage in Habima theater during a tour. It was amazing!
Jonah, When I first watched this yesterday I couldn’t get over how much you look like Ben Platt only to do some research and realize he is your brother and your Dad is the film and stage producer Marc Platt. What an amazing and talented family you have. You are a very talented guy. I saw WICKED a week after Idina had won the Tony at the Gershwin. Literally it was the 7pm Sunday performance and the day of the Puerto Rican Parade. Kristen Chenoweth, Norbert Leo Butz and Joel Grey were all out sick. And Idina was taken out of the show at intermission due to illness and was replaced by Eden Espinoza . It was definitely a strange performance. I later saw the show in Los Angeles with Eden and Megan Hilty and it was unbelievable. They both made the show uniquely their own. A friend of mine Carole Shelley was the only original cast member that actually made it through the New York performance that night. I think they all had gotten ill at some Thai restaurant in the Village, but don’t quote me cause I’m not sure. God bless and belated Happy Birthday! Ethan Nielson P. S. I was an actor in L.A. for many years and came to realize that in losing the role of Conrad Jarrett in the film ORDINARY PEOPLE my career wasn’t going to go as planned. But I suppose there are unforeseen reasons for everything. www.ethansfilmreviews.com
Lets just take a tally: Wicked Vlogs- 4 (Oz blog, Fly Girl, Think Pink, and this.) Vlogs for all Disney shows combined- 2 (King of New York for Newsies and I dream of Genie for Aladdin.) Why haven't they done one for Lion King!!
It's cool that Robin de Jesus was Boq and that Mandy Gonzalez was Elphaba because they were also in "In the Heights" together: Mandy Gonzalez was Nina and he was Sonny. I like how at 12:00, Madame Morrible is dancing (don't know the actress's name).
