thanks for the huge amount of key tips. I wonder why travel time is not accounted for inside the storm sewer culverts, if Hec Ras is supposed to model the flow profile inside them? a time lagged operational rule for the gate at the entrance would help?
Yes, I would like to see a follow up to this as I am doing a lot of this now in a large Metro study area. Love to see a follow up discussing 6.2 and how you would do Urban modeling differently perhaps now..
Great! I have done something similar to simulate 2D overland flow of water from flooding MH. I wrote a script to add all the flooding MH as internal BC ,gave a triangular hydrograph to each BC and simulated it. It worked pretty well. I have always thought of building a loosely coupled HECRAS 1D-2D and SWMM 1D to create a 3way coupled flood model, but it is still on my head as thoughts.
just wanted to ask do we have to import subbasins which were generated in hechms, in hecras and then do we need to define boundary condition for each subbasin separately or do we have to create a single 2d flow area perimeter for all the subbasins as whole, for 2D flood modeling? as we'll be using outputs from hechms which were generated for each subbasin
I am trying to build a urban flood simulation in HEC RAS , but I am unable to get the model run stable in full momentum , I am using 1 sec time step controlled by courant number , my average cell size is 10 m and minimum is 1 m. Can you suggest some way to get my model complete the run in full momentum ?
Hello dear members, Can someone help me please. So before running the model when I go to change the equation and click okay. All the deafault values are set to zero and when I compute it say some tolerance values are aout of interval. How can I change the equation and simply run the model. Thanks in advance
