Same problem in Michigan, Farm Bureau is the biggest lobbyist , always pushing for more dead anterless deer even reducing tag cost from 20 to 5 in certain DMUs, you guys are great and I love the fact that you talk about our Lord and Savior, everytime i sit in the woods I feel so thankfull to be able to enjoy this magnificent creation...as a beekeeper this is even more magnified! We have a major doe issue my ratios are 3 to 4 bucks to 18 to 20 does
Hit the nail on the head "people are stupid " whether it's good plots, box blinds or suburban hunting if it's not the same way this one hunts they got plenty to say. The only way most can prop themselves up is to tear others down. But that's the world we live in now, people want to cry freedom of speech and this and that but aslong as it aligns with their opinions. Here in Maine we have a youth "season" it is this Friday and Saturday (we can't hunt Sundays in Maine at all ) and then the following Saturday is residents only and then Monday opens for everyone. That's rifle season. Here in Maine not so much the farm bureau but vehicle insurance companies pressure the state to pass out more permits for deer and moose cause they don't want to pay for collisions . The state has done a horrible job the last 8-10 years with deer and moose permits and gave out way too many.
Appreciate Don’s answer on what to do in your 20s. Philosophical and answers regarding values are always good. But sometimes straight strategic answers are needed. Especially an example to buy land which is something for both deer hunting and life.
My mother tagged a 300lb 5 year old 13 in KS Oct 14, a three or 4 year old 9 pt in MO on our permission farm Oct 19th. Shes said what lull? And shes well, was born in the 50s.
If only we didn't have to listen to Terry Peer regurgitate Don's wisdom. Those coat tails must be getting worn out....where's Terry's bucks on the ground? Other than somewhere on Don's farm. Thanks Don appreciate all you do!
