Pairs or single socks. 70+ pairs is a lot of sock, over one pair a week for some weeks 😮, fantastic. I am happy if I finish one or two pair a month. Good job with your sock making‼️
I am working on my first Gnome project, Someone to Write Gnome About. All of your socks are great. I also knitted my first Emotional Support Chicken. She needs to be put together but all the knitting is done. 😊❤❤ 💜💜💜LOVE the purple 🧦🧦!!
I think Hermione smelled spearmint tooth paste, parchment, and fresh cut grass in a love potion in class. Could be that.... referring to the yarn colorway name 🤓
Yes, this is correct. During the first class there is a potion that smells different to each person based upon what attracts them. Hermione smelled new parchment, freshly mown grass and spearmint toothpaste. The toothpaste part is also in part because they were at The Burrow and Ron wiped spearmint toothpaste off her lip. Not that I’ve seen these movies or read the books or anything 😂
Those freckled whimsy Halloween socks do give off a definitive fun spirited vibe for October. Have been Halloween knitting my own socks with Stroll. Orange black purple lime white. The combinations are endless.
Braces are a pain. I had braces when I was in high school and I was so excited to get them off. I hope that you are able to get lots of knitting done while you are there
Lisa….you are getting me interested in knitting scrappy socks, but I am intimidated by changing all the colors/yarns. Would you ever consider doing a tutorial where we could watch you do the yarn changes and managing the weaving in ends…..please think about it!
Check out The Crazy Sock Lady! She has a video on how she weaves in her ends. It’s the same way I do it. Here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DOZuXzCvsO0.htmlsi=0dr20k-KSSjgaSDx
Lisa - question on the US1.5 needles. I am new to sock knitting and have tried US1 and US1.5. I am fairly sure my socks on US1, could be used as a structural element in building construction when ~10 st / inch. But they have a really nice HUG fitting feeling when tried on. Finishing up a US1.5 sock set and the fabric is much more flexible and right around 9st/inch. I am guessing I need to also move to US1.5 however decrease stitch count a little bit? When I try on now - they feel like 'air' but are not sloppy or saggy. (sorry I wrote a novel!!)
Also not a fan of spiders but they are making the movie version of Project Hail Mary and I think Rocky is a spider like character and I can’t wait for that. I loved that book. I think you mentioned previously that you liked it too,
Hope all went well with your mamogram. I do have a question about your heels. Do you break your main yarn before starting the contrast heel, or do you leave the main color attached? I have a lot of Freckled Whimsy subscriptions, and am not sure whether to start the heel after breaking the main yarn, or leaving it attached. Thanks for the information. PS: Grey's Anatomy has been renewed for a 21st season!
I don’t cut the main color when I do a contrast heel. If it’s easier to get the stripes to line up, you can cut the yarn. I’ve done that before too. Hooray for more Grey’s Anatomy!
