I watched my dad take his last breath and I’m still traumatized. When I saw him for the first time again at the funeral I ran to the bathroom and threw up for 10 minutes straight. I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy. 💔 Death is still such a mystery to me even tho I witnessed it first hand like that. I can never wrap my head around it.

Most doctor’s truly do not care. I’m pregnant and was discussing FMLA with my OB as I’ve had to miss work due to being sick and have over time accumulated points that put me at risk for termination. It caused a lot of stress and I was expressing my frustration around the situation to my doctor AFTER HE ASKED. Guess what he responded: “Oh no, if you lose your job, will you be able to maintain insurance to pay me?…” That was sobering. They do not give AF.

I cannot believe how much I resonated with this episode! Her & I found out Puerto Rico is one of the biggest advocates for MS. They want her to be the face of this disease. America 🇺🇸 do better please with health care. Recognize people’s come backs & give the people what they deserve. BETTER HEALTH CARE.

The state of our healthcare system is abysmal. I definitely learned my own lesson on that when I started having chronic health problems. It’s honestly scary. I wanted to go to an integrative or functional medicine doctor but there’s only one in my area and they don’t take my insurance. And I don’t want to pay out of pocket for someone to just throw some bullshit supplements at me either. How do you know they really work? It’s a mess. I hope they get our healthcare system sorted before we get old as hell because the way they treat old people is a whole other level of fucked up.

Overall health is so important to talk about. Death is unpredictable and it’s also important to discuss that. Have a will no matter how old you are. You’d be surprised what people want to tussle over before a body is even cold. GET LIFE INSURANCE. You don’t want your grieving family members scrambling to pay for arrangements and that’s the first thing life insurance will pay out, are funeral expenses. Include what you want your arrangements to look like: burial, cremation, aquamation, Capsula Mundi, etc., then write it in your will. Update your will every year because things and people change. Try to find a loophole NOT to get an executor of estate because that person becomes responsible for paying your final bills after you’re gone and I do NOT believe in continuing to pay bills for the deceased. Losing my mom was horrible enough without all the additional stressors.
