Can't LOVE you enough Steve. Thank you for stepping out of the Sirius format and making yourself available to our shared wide weird world. Peace brother!
I love these stories of You and Bobby. Thank you so much for sharing these funny times again. Looking forward to sitting down to hear mire from you Big Steve. Aloha from Park City Utah
Just watched all three episodes back to back to back. Entertaining and informative. Just finished Rock Skully's " Living With the Dead" this week, so finding your channel is right on time. Guess sitting on this side of the tube makes us all just a little bit envious. You are a very fortunate man indeed. Thanks Brother.
I named my dog otis after bobbys otis because i had heard hed passed. He was the best dog i ever had and he understood English too. You described him perfectly. He literally saved us twice from getting pinched at festivals when the cops were being over rambunctious
I've been to the Philippines many times and have never heard any Grateful Dead being played except for what I was playing. It's a shame because I think the Pinoys would really appreciate it. Good to know there's Heads in the PI!
I’m the same as u because I remember everything about those days plus u kicked me out because I was with Jerry + u blamed me for making him 20 minutes late to get back on stage ! Y was that my fault ? U hurt me deeply so I didn’t come to anymore shows because of u + Jerry never knew y ? I don’t hate u but feel bad for ur loss also ! ❤️🐰🐇🌹☠️💀⚡️🕊️🪽👻💦💧🫧🎵🔥
"The dog could read your mind." - Hell yeah, Steve! You're the man, dogs can read intention clear as day. Thanks for sharing, Steve. You are our historian!
Great stuff, Steve! (I got on the bus in '77) But one great moment was meeting you at "Terrapin Station " in Alpine Valley, 8/02.. you came up to me and complimented my t-shirt(Music Never Stopped cartoon by R Crumb). Then you asked if I ever met Ramrod...and proceeded to introduce my buddy and me to him. You were so gracious, and had always been someone I admired from the audience. Thanks for that lifetime memory 👍☮️ and thanks for sharing!
I always love hearing anything from others about who these guys r ? Once u hear then see them u just know by watching + listening ❤️🐇🐰🕊️☠️💀⚡️goodnite !
Love this stuff Steve! I'm a big fan of the show on XM as well. Would you consider doing a show about the FOH gear of the Dead? I'm curious about the mic pre's, compressors, EQ's and other tricks you may have used.
My high school friend "Guss" was chief sound engineer at 930 Club and he once told me there was no musician/artist in the business as nice and cool as Bob Weir! Straight from the "horse's mouth", right there!...
I remember listening to that 40 years ago and always wondering what he was referring to. I’d forgotten all about it, until you jarred my memory. 40 years later. Thank you!
Hey Steve, thank you so much for doing this. I’ve been a deadhead since my first shows in 1989 when I was 18. The dead have had a major impact on my life. This is going to be so much fun. I feel like the proverbial fly on the wall. I cannot wait to mine this gold with you. Once again, thanks man.
My dog Whimsy absolutely understands English; every word! All my pets do, to some extent, because I talk to them constantly, like they're people. No one else listens to me... LOL!
my closest and best buddy for the last 10yrs has been my black Labrador, Otis 🐾 named after Garcia introducing Weir’s dog to the Radio City Music Hall audience while tuning up Ripple and released on Reckoning ⚡️”and that’s Otis”
Thanks you Steve we need more of these stories open to everyone tour an amazing story teller with amazing stories and a voice you can just relax and listen.
Big Steve! Just amazing history you’re laying out here. I just stumbled on the Grateful Dead England 1970 and I’d love to hear you do commentary over it and telling us who everyone is. See if your producer can make that happen!
This is highly entertaining material for Deadheads or any fan of the GD. Hearing the stories from the other side of the stage is a real joy. I have played electric bass guitar in a slew of bands that never went beyond regional recognition, and usually we all had lots of good times, as well as a few less than good times. Keep them coming Big Steve! You are the best Grateful Dead historian of all!
Steve, thanks so much for doing this! I think it’s really important to tell the stories and continue our culture and traditions. I’m looking for a some information from anyone here, which for me has a small bit to do with furthering the tradition- re: tie dyed Fender amps! Since learning to play, much under the influence of Live/Dead at the time, I’ve always wanted that but never got it together- but now (as a professional musician) watching these episodes has relit that fire. And it’s time to do it before I can’t lug around Fender amps anymore! So the question is- what material was used for the tie dye grill covers? Were they just bedsheets for instance, or something more functional for the purpose? And then were they placed over the amp’s original grill cloth, or was the grill cloth removed, and replaced by the tie dyed material? With much appreciation, in the spirit.
Hanging out with wolf crosses it's very apparent mind-reading is totally natural for canines. Dream sharing is amazing, too - more pack mentality! Dogs and humans share the Akashic library 🌞
Light one up right at the start so we can get more hour long shows - & or ask your producer to do the same 😂 🙏🏽 ❤️💛💚 LOVING these podcasts, Thank You for putting this up online 👍🏽
I don't think Bobby got enough love. Of course there was a period of time on stage when Jerry was there, but not really there, and Bobby had to carry the evening. Great stories Steve. Love this channel.
Thank you Steve. Its just so viscerally pleasing to hear these first hand accounts of what went on during those incredible years when this magic shit was all happening in real time. A perspective like yours is so special. You are definitely my favorite of the "Chroniclers". Keep on Keepin' ON !
At the 😊 Greek one show Bobby guitar went silent he flipping out Jerry just started playing rhythm and lead. song eyes of world not sure what year but it was when Bobby went wireless and big Steve came out save the Day
@@ScarlettFire341 No kidding….. it’s not enjoyable to watch a dog trying to get peanut butter unstuck from the roof of his mouth… unless you’re into that, to each his own, I suppose
