Great podcast and well done all of you for your honest and frank insight into your prison experience. It’s good to see things have progressed slightly over the years but a lot of work needs to be done to ensure people sent to prison have the chance to be rehabilitated and change their mindset on crime. X
Getting me through another shift mate cheers! Really appreciated what you & Johnny said at the start of the podcast about perspectives. Sometimes I feel like I’m missing something by leaving that life in the past. Not realising a lot of people will envy my position now I’m doing decent in life! Such a good way to look at life. I’ll always have a place in my heart for Marie from the link centre in low moss. Woman was the only prison officer (refuse to call her a screw she was far from that). Who actually showed compassion and empathy. She managed to get me an appointment to see the psychologist. Never went anywhere because they thought I was on the chase. Will never forget that woman taking me out my cell to talk to me because I opened up to her about how I really felt. Amazing person who deserves so much praise and respect 👏
Always someone to help garvey. And I’m so glad for you highlighting this person. It’s not easy and testament to yourself for leaving it behind. Well done and speak soon. 👍
Ive not long come accross your channel ,im tuning into this podcast as i type my comment ' ive watched the one with Joe Steele & ive heard Johnny boy telling his story on other podcasts ,My mate served 29 years & 11 months as an innocent man ' he went through his sentence with dirty protests ,on the blanket ,set fire to his cell etc etc , constant rebelled throughout his whole sentence ' i look forward to finishing this podcast tonight ' keep up the good work with your podcasts, My mate ended up in Hull special unit for a couple of years during his sentence
@SocialSessions6 Thanks mate , Sadly my mate passed away 14 months ago only 57 years old ' he did get 10 years of freedom & repatriated back to Scotland
@SocialSessions6 I'm doing no bad Sean ' if you watch the first 5 mins of Blinks podcast he did two years ago on Arthur Thomson ,he gives my mate Kevin & myself a shout out its right at the start of his podcast , Blink & my mate Kevin were good friends in the jails down south & back in touch years later when my mate was freed '
Really fantastic episode, i really think u 4 guys have something special, i have watched u all on different podcast but together u could really do great things. Good luck sean, u should have a top job in goverment to path the way forward x
Brilliant podcast lads if only the authorities would stop and think let's listen to these guys and learn things from them what needs to be changed in the system.
Superb! like a panel of ex cons from all the generations putting there thoughts together on how to better the system. SPS should form a think tank with these guys and others with experience to progress the system into a new era ✌️
This was a class podcast class guests and sean u where class in your questions and giving the lads there chance to speak n answer uninterrupted this channel is great superb keep it up one of the best channels respect to joe jonny boy n fivo 👌👏
Proper glesga guys speaking proper truth and about when jails were proper ruff and built to break u. Still a bit like that, but nothing compared to what the steele brothers/ family endured. Podcasts very informative Shaun, for people that dont know what its like. Carson TV a disgrace, calling guys friendship loyalty into question. He forgets johnny sought him out to help him, cause he was getting bullied online( carsons words). Short memory indeed. Great podcast and wish u every bit of luck going, this podcast will rapidly grow ur numbers
Thanks bro. Really appreciate the comments. Was very enjoyable podcast to do and as you said those boys been through the mill and two nicer people you couldn’t meet. Testament to themselves. Thanks mate.
@@SocialSessions6 great stuff shaun and totally needed to inform youngsters at start of jail time. Damaging stuff and trauma informed, is just words in prison service and not giving people medication they are prescribed outside, is a heavy breach of human rights
If makes my blood boil to hear how people are / were treated in prison. It sounds like already traumatised human beings in need of safety, compassion & rehab being put into a torture chamber back in tbe day! I really hope things are changing now, but a long to go before we have real understanding and put in place a trauma informed approach to rehab and recovery.
Your right about crime dieing of death hence why there handing out 30/35 year sentences as though it nothing so the system is ticking over for years to come.
Great podcast but Jesus my hand was sweating and anxiety through the roof watching it..especially when Johnny talking about taking that turn in his cell and pressing the bell holy shit. Took me back to my own sentence.
Brilliant podcast the authorities have got it all wrong the damage their doing to the prisoners heads , I would jail they basdards, wish the 4 of you the best of luck going forward
