Oh my goodness, the pics and clips from your hiking trip were soooo good! I love the sound of waves - so soothing. I really need a vacation at the beach. A lake would work too. Anywhere there’s a beach (preferably isolated and free of other people) and some water to swim in sounds like heaven! 🏝
Thank you (and The Teen) for sharing so much about your backpack adventure. I love the idea of backpacking, but I have fully embraced sticking with dayhikes. And yes, Alltrails is worth any penny you give it. We were just using it in New River Gorge (WV) to navigate trails. Especially handy for showing tired 11 year olds how close they are to the car. And water. Because we never carry enough water (a good reason for me to stick to day hikes 🤣😳). Also, when you were saying you went down on your needle size for the recalibrate I nodded along because I just ripped mine out and started over with a US 6. I wasn't prepared for you to say you knitted it on spaghetti noodles! 🤣
WOW I love your Recalibrate and the styling you shared!!! Thank you for making my design and mentioning it! I’d love to have some photos of your work to share if you like!! 😊
Thank you for the versatile Recalibrate style options and info about your color and fit decisions - each outfit worked beautifully with the knit! Inspired 🧶🌱💕
Wonderful flowers! Also if your fam loves to pick strawberries, but not to eat strawberry jam you may find canning whole strawberries gives you more options to use them in baking or as a topping for ice cream, pancakes, or strawberry shortcake.
I love the green floor. Black floors will show everything and never look clean. My boyfriend, now husband, had black carpet and it never looked clean. I have a dear loved one with a black granite headstone and every rain or mowing makes it look dirty. So every time I go I take cleaning supplies. I love your FOs. Thank you for taking a picture for me with The Knit Girllls at SSK. I am feeling much better.
Oh my goodness. I was already in for Yurt Mushroom Retreat you thought up in the past. BUT Fat Swimming/Camping/ hiking and Knitting. I would be on board. Like on the actual board for coordinating. I am willing to spend my fat mental energy on that 😍😍😍😍
The most wonderful yarn shop is located not too far from where you backpacked. It’s in Cedar, Michigan and called Wool and Honey. Have you been? If not, it’s a MUST!!
I drove past it both ways, but only saw it on the way back (the teen Admitted to seeing it and not telling me)….I wasn’t mentally prepared, but next time!
Fab episode as always. I can relate to the driving situation, here on Cape Cod we have rotaries...let me tell you, when tourist season hits, unless it is an emergency, I will not leave my cottage! Good for you with the backpacking, I was almost convinced until you said snakes. Thanks for the adventure, even if it was from my knitting chair.
So amazing listening to your backpacking journey! I’m currently listening to Annabel Streets’ 52 Ways to Walk and Bill Bryson’s A walk In the Woods. Very inspiring!
Thanks so much for sharing this Amy-Beth, I thought that the videos and photos at the end were beautiful. I love your recalibrate top and really appreciated the different styling videos, I am very inspired by you. I have seen the frog stop animation it was adorable, my eldest is obsessed with it. 😁🐸💕
So glad you enjoyed Manitou Island. My family has been vacationing at Sleeping Bear for more than 40 years. In fact, thats where we were when this episode was released. It sure would be a great place for a knitting retreat-though My backcountry hiking days are over, the Platte River campground in the park is one of the best campgrounds in the country with great group camp options Geez. Dont mean to sound like an ad. I just think a camping knitting retreat would be fantastic.
We're usually there the last two weeks of July or first two of August--but just about anytime is a great time there--June through September. Maybe September 2023?
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your video and description of Sleeping Bear Sand dunes. I grew up just south of that area. Nostalgia had me catching my breath. If you ever gather a knitting backpack trip to the dunes (or anywhere in Northern Michigan!), I am in! Love your podcast. Cheers from tropical South Florida - which ain’t no Michigan! 🤣
Love your Recalibrate! I'm like you, not much for positive ease! LOL -In regards to that Spoonflower fabric - you can check your backorders and see if it's still available - or possible contact that fabric designer to see what happened. I had to check my account to see how far back they list past orders and my account still shows my first order from back in 2011! But then again I've only ordered a handful of time from them and you probably order more since you have a small business. You could also try sending them a photo and seeing if they can find it (especially since you know you ordered it from them!) :)
Thank you so much for this video. I always love your videos but this one had so much in it for me! I was thrilled that you said ‘daylia’ instead of the often used ‘Darlia’! (I’ve always known them as daylias being from the UK!)😂😂 That Foolproof cowl looks fabulous and I had to pause and buy the pattern - always looking for stuff to use my handspun for! I loved hearing about your backpacking trip - it sounded amazing! 😊🙏
You must try backpacking on Isle Royal It’s beautiful! So many birds and flowers! Limited people allowed at this National park so you must reserve your spot on the Ferry way ahead of time. Good fishing there as well. FYI, Outdoor Vitals has a thick wide pad.
As you were showing your bags I was thinking, I want to sew one myself! Do you have any tutorial videos on sewing your bags? (I should probably just look myself lol) Your camping trip sounds amazing. This year we're gardening, maybe we can throw in a hike somewhere with my husband carrying the 2 year old!
Oh and also I was thinking as I watched your suggestions for size modifications: I named it Recalibrate to reflect my own personal life and having to think and adjust on the fly!
Young's still has the giant slide. They also have batting cages and a golf driving range. Their fried cheese curds are the bomb! I will definitely look for you!
That arrangement is gorgeous! I love how Georgie pronounces everything on The Common Farm Flowers channel. She has the BEST accent. Love your channel for all the reasons!!!!!💗🌸💗🌸💗🌸
Lol at McDonalds chat - we are 2 hours (one way) away from the nearest McDonalds. We have a Subway in our town but any other kind of fast food is a 4 hour round trip.
I am so so glad you went back packing!!!Thanks for the photos, they really made me smile. For the biking, did you know there are retrofit electric assists?? If balance improves enough I would love to get one so I don't have to worry about running out of steam
I was LOLing at your school pick-up rant, and I don’t even have kids! Guess it’s universal, there are crappy drivers galore. And “holy mohair”…I’m stealing that one!
Fabulous Episode!!! You make me laugh out loud and I speak back to you in agreement on some topics…my husband thinks I’ve lost it talking to the screen 😂
And sorry to leave so many comments but you are awesome and that rusty orange striped shirt with the flowered skirt looks so good you are adorable love you
So enjoying your podcasts in fact, I was enjoying them so much that I forgot to even write anything so just know I watched the last episode and now looking at this one too. I do have to get my meds taken …..(vertigo ain’t no joke😵💫😵💫😂).
Fun episode. I’m so glad I’m finished with school pick up and drop off. Torturous! I’m in Ohio and so wanted to go to the Wool Gathering at Young’s Dairy. I will be traveling back from Hilton Head. Pity
I think my bedroom can compare to yours. We removed the horrible wallpaper years ago but never painted. There are piles of papers and things. It’s not a grown up bedroom.
