Ken Follett's KingsBridge Series is gripping and fascinating narrative series that tells of British History across the centuries. From the 10th century into the 19th century. Not all epochs are covered, however these five wonderful books are a wonderful and highly entertaining series. The main character is KingsBridge. From a village to a city through the ages. The great thing about this series is that you do not have to read them in order. Each of the books is a standalone novel that packs character, place and drama. It is a story about capitalism, religion, persecution and it is about individuals challenging the 'system'. Beautifully written. I highly recommend all or any of the five books in the series. If you as a reader enjoy narrative fictional history you can't go wrong with Ken Follett's KingsBridge Series.
