Episode 35 - Holding position... for 2 hours!.. on our way from Elizabeth City to Norfolk

In this video, we make our way from Elizabeth City to Norfolk, Virginia crossing through the Dismal Swamp. Once departing the swamp, we wind up waiting on 3 trains to cross before the bridge is lifted permitting passage. To top it off, the winds were quite high and 17 boats were waiting along with us! The Dismal Swamp is a beautiful body of water and if your draft allows, it's well worth the trip through. Very peaceful, calm, and the scenery is beautiful!

That is a cruise ship life boat. He bought it for a few thousand dollars and plans to create an Airbnb with it. Big dreams!

Are you heading up the Chesapeake. I live near Annapolis. That looks like awesome trip. Where going to do the dismal swamp trip next year.

Yes. Our next video will cover the beginning of the Chesapeake as we make our way north. We enjoyed our stay in Annapolis very much. We will cover that portion of our trip somewhere in the next two or three episodes. It takes a long time to make each episode.
