Found your podcast just today as I was knitting the sleeves of a sweater for my daughter in law. I really enjoyed it. Thanks! I ordered Mice Skating to add to my collection of children’s books that include knitting. ❤
Good work, Holly! I didn't even try to beat the shark with your yarn but I have a shawl idea that I look forward to, maybe in the fall. I have a lot of MMY that I need to knit!!
I love your Ranunculus, Holly!! The Sunken Treasure colorway is definitely one of my top favorite colors you have dyed so far. It’s such a perfect blue and I think it looks fantastic as a Ranunculus. 😍 I have enough of the fingering weight skein I used for my Shark week beret to combine with some other stash yarns to make another Tolsta tee in a fade and I’m so excited to get it cast on! I CANNOT WAIT to see the Redwall yarns!!! 🎉🥳🥳😁
Just found your channel and subscribed. I knit and cross stitch and love them both. I am just starting my first cardigan (Harvest by Tincan Knits). Your sweater looks amazing. I too am a homeschooler. This fall will be our second year. Can’t wait to see more videos.
@@beckybesendorfer2427 Thanks for subscribing! It’s always great to hear from other homeschoolers who knit 💕 I hope your Harvest cardigan goes well! I’ve never made one of those, so let me know how you like it! 😊
Sunken Treasure is a beautiful colorway, and it looks great in your Ranunculus! I was on the fence about trying to knit a Ranunculus for Shark Week. I think the fastest I’ve ever knit a top is about 3 weeks. I did cast one on today and there is no chance I will finish in 8 days. Great color choices for your chicken kits!
@@selfishknitter Thank you! I am normally a very slow sweater knitter (so slow! Like a year+), so it felt amazing to get one done so fast! I needed that deadline. And thanks for the chicken kit love! 💕 🐓
You’re gonna make it, Holly! I love that ranunculus! I’ve made 2 and gave a third on my needles, and all in at least do weight or larger yarn. Your chicken turned out soooo cute! I love it! You can get back to cross stitch very soon! I’m that way about embroidery every now and then. It’s so fun to have different hobbies!
Wow Holly - a podcast mid-shark week!! You're killing it! I can't wait to see the Redwall yarn. The last collection was so pretty! I know what you mean about starting to think about other projects halfway through shark week. I was in the same boat, thinking about casting on for the West Knits sockalong 😂. I'm glad I didn't though, because I cut it closer than I thought I would on my shark week project.
Your sweater is gorgeous! I recently started cross stitching and I love it! Knitting will always be my first love but cross stitch is second! The chicken colors are beautiful! I finished Emma…it was so good!
I love the Ranunculus sweater! I've made two of them, one in a summer cotton/linen blend with short sleeves and one in a worsted weight warmer fibers with long sleeves. It is so wearable! I would definitely make another one.
Spend the extra money to buy something with a glass jar & lid. Then you get to wash and reuse. All my drinking glasses are old tomato sauce jars 😂 or jelly glass jars.
I absolutely love that colorway - I knitted one shark hat and just started my second medium shark hat. What weight are you using for the sharky sweater? I know what you mean about the tightness of the knitted Spark sweater. Maybe go up to a seven and see if you like the fabric better than the 6?
I picked socks! Socks! I've only ever knit socks twice before and I may have taken a few months to finish sock 2. I am going to be knitting like a fool tomorrow, I had to rip back 3x 😬 Your sweater is fabulous! I really love your colorway, I wanted to use my skein for a shawl, I have an accidental perfectly coordinating skein. But I wisely knew a 800 yd shawl was not in my wheelhouse in a week! Praying the second sock is 🤷♀️
Hi I don't want to sound too ignorant, but what it shark week in terms of knitting? I haven't heard about the Shark week challenge to finish a project in a week. Can you tell us where to find info about that? Great work on your Ranunculus! I started a Ranunculus but had such a hard time keeping my lace work in line. I started a second one in yarn that wasn't so precious to me. I finally got past that, and finished the yoke on the first one. Now they are both lingering. I will pick them up in September. I am in CO too, and I know it will cool off a bit come Labor Day. You have inspired me to challenge myself to finish them by the end of September.
@@Earthwise001 Hi! Always great to hear from another Colorado knitter! The shark week challenge is put on by the politically incorrect knitters podcast (this is the second year), and the rules are just to start and finish a project in one week. That’s great that you have two Ranunculus yokes done! Keep knitting! 💕😊
