Could I get best opinions for gearing in my 12.66 fti case my truck has 44 inch tires 4.10 gears in the 1 ton axles with a little over stock sbf 302 wanna spin second well need some opinions please
im have a 6spd manual in my 05 dodge ram i wanna run a single drop case 44 bogger maybe tractor tires sometimes what would you recomend and is there a site to get used good parts ballen on a budget lol thanks
What about us guys that have less that 500 hp and running 2.5 tons and want to have a good time. Im still learning to do all this and can't afford the big hp yet.
I've only learned by watching and studying and making mistakes myself. I'm a budget builder that wants to do cool shit, and I know I don't know everything. The way I figured gearing and what I needed was watching other trucks perform that had the tire size I wanted. Find out what trans tcase gearing and what axles they used, also consider their HP. I multiplied all the gearing together to get total gear reduction for all gears. Example turbo 400 first gear 2.48, second gear 1.48. If the truck had 5:1 tcase and 5 tons 6.44. 2.48x5x6.44=79.85 1.48x5x6.44=47.65 Since there's different ways to get gearing and I'm on a budget, I figured ways to get what gearing I thought I needed. I used a sm465, t136 tcase, and 5 tons. 6.55x1.98x6.44=83.5 3.58x1.98x6.44=45.64 Just a method I came up with. Its still not where I want it to be cool, but with more hp maybe I can run on second gear and be cool 🤷♂️ project for this winter.
I like the new channel! What would you recommend for a T-case setup that's on a 1 ton Chevy shortbox, 12" lift, 44" tires that gets some street use? Right now I have a NP208 and 8" suspension and my driveshaft angles on the T-case side are almost maxed out. Married NP205 hooked to a divorced and dropped NP205?
