Coelogyne speciosa. A look at three beautiful colour forms of this easy and rewarding species.
Vanda falcata x Vanda coerulea. A sweetly scented primary hybrid that combines the virtues of both parents.
Restrepia jesupiana and Phalaenopsis thailandica. Two more of my miniature orchids.

I love watching your videos! They are like a walk in the woods with an old friend. I grow in a greenhouse in Southern Oklaoma. We have very cold winters and extremely hot summers. I cant grow many of the same olants you do but I love seeing them. Thank you for sharing and teaching.

Glad you enjoy watching my videos but, gosh, that is a very different climate and it must be challenging when it comes to orchids. One good point though is that you are much further south than we are and so your days in winter aren't as depressingly short as ours. Best wishes. Howard

Thank you for your videos! I really enjoy the format, showing different species and even from different genera with detailed information about every single one of them! And of course I especially enjoyed the Phalaenopsis thailandica

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I love coelogynes and my 'cristata' is currently in bloom! I would really like to try restrepia next! Beautiful unique flowers!

If you are doing well with C. cristata Restrepias would definitely be a good addition. Also modestly priced in most cases.

Hi Howard, gorgeous blooms, thanks for the update. Love the hybrids of neofenitia and got few of them However they don't bloom easily for me. Any suggestion is highly appreciated. Thanks 😊

Hi Mary, It's tricky to advise other growers. Am I right in thinking that yours are in the house? Since both parents need quite high light levels are yours getting enough light? Maybe try nearer a window? This is the only hybrid I have and I have it hanging up in the greenhouse where it gets plenty of indirect light but shaded in summer. My coelogynes are all much lower down in the greenhouse by comparison.

HI Howard beautiful plants I am learning from you I have just moved a Bifrenaria harrisonii into wood basket to see if it will grow as well as yours, but you have some great plants. David

Hi David. That should work out well. I think they display well in a basket although they do start growing through the sides and underneath which means you have to keep them hanging up after a year or two. I am just about to start watering one of mine for the first time after a two month winter rest because it has just started showing the first buds. I have never managed to grow the beautiful little Bifrenaria wendlandiana we saw in Brazil which is very frustrating. I bought a flask from Dick several years ago. I still have a miserable little plant but have never had any joy with it.

I enjoyed watching so much😌🙏💞I have a Vanda falcata hybrid quite like yours in flower. You can see it on my channel. 'Orchids update part 2'. And mine is flowering in winter with a fragrance.
