What we got up to on 23 September 2024, with a fast approaching launch date and 5 days of working on a surf contest in-between. Hi Paul. Be careful with that samson post. I had similar and thaught it was 'all right' as it was sold oak - it was rotten in the core and my boat came adrift off her mooring in a storm when it sheared off..... You might consider changing it (and put some form of weather cap on the end grain....) I sistered a new one of laminated Iroko scraps with a horizontal placed piece. Its documented in the EOG users site....

@@johnjennings9043 thanks. It got an accidental layer of primer when we primed the boat, but I actually want to treat it with the same UV epoxy we have on the other wood finishes. The core is still solid.
