I'm getting one of these venturist. I preciously had a Scotty and its ac also had a heater. 5,000 btu was pretty warm at temps in the teens. I want one of those in my venturist.

Oh nice, sounds like a future upgrade for me. If you decide to do this keep us posted. I hear the newer campers are eager to swap the ac units out.

Hold on I think you stumbled on a great idea for your old one. Just put it on your table and fire it up so you can sit outside in the summer heat. Maybe even point it at ya while you griddle. Very nice video!

Curious as to why you did not upgrade to a better AC? Specifically one with an adjustable thermostat. That seems to be a common complaint.

Great question, honestly we really didn't need it is all. Though it would have been a nice update. It was just something we needed you know.

Curious if your old one went out. Mine ended up being bad from the factory and had to swap mine out.

Ours too was bad when we received it. Crazy me was too busy with the Galley project that I didnt even test the AC until we were fixing to hit the road. The plastic fan blade on the inside was busted and rendered it unusable. Talk about bad timing. We ran the trip around the US with out an AC.

Sure did, the plastic fan on the inside went out and raddled like crazy to the point it was not usable. We actually produced this video in late August and finally finished producing it. We have been on the road doing some trips so it kinda got hard to edit. Thanks so much brother. Happy Holidays to you and the fam!!!!! Yall be safe and God bless.

AC Tech here, you could have got the fan replaced, Unless it destroyed the coils.

Did Runaway Camper paint that black for you? And if so, how much did it add to the cost of the Camper?

Hello. Thank you for your video but can I ask you a question. Think about buying a Runaway and know that the materials have changed for building it. With that said I have heard folks having trouble with water issues because of the ac being at the front of the camper. It looks like your camper is the new material and the outer cover for the AC. So I am just wondering if you have had any water issues from the ac at the front and do you cover the open vent that is still exposed when rainy travel situations. Appreciate your time and feedback! Hi Jessica, sorry for the delayed response. I have heard about AC leaking water into the camper. I have never had this happen to me at all. With that said I'm sure it can happen. AC units are decided to be angled outwards so that when they are running water will drip out side.. so if you get rain water on the inside of the AC pan and then the AC is tilted forward, into the camper yes water could pour into the camper. I'll get a video demonstrating how this could happen. Hope this helps.

@@BubbasgarageTv Hi there! Thank you for getting back to me and appreciate your feedback. Besides the camper sitting still using the AC , the issue I have heard is when driving. The reason that I heard about this problem is because of wind force while driving will drive the rain into the open area of unit. So that is why I was asking and your experience with the new materials for building the Runaways. Maybe that is more for the wood type Runaways. Still I think I will cover the end that is open while driving. Will keep a eye for your video on this. Have a good night! Jess 🙏

haha for real.. The plastic fan blade on the inside was busted. If you turned it on it was knocking all over the place lol. Wasn't able to use it on the trip around the US but hey we are ready for winter now hahahahhaha lol.

Did u notice any difference in heat inside the camper by painting it black?I asked about them painting before purchasing and they said they prefer keeping it white due to reflection off the heat.I also want to paint mine black or possibly rhino lining it.

Great question, we pretty much had it painted right out of the gate. With that said I would not be surprised if it is hotter for sure. We thought about lining it and opted to go this route mainly because it would be easier for me to mod up as time goes on. All in all we have been in some really hot areas but mainly just use the rig as a tool/sleeper so we just turn the A/C on (if possible) just before we climb in to sleep you know. Been really happy thus far. Looking to mod up the A/C cover soon with the new one :)

The plastic fan blade on the inside was busted rendered it unusable. Never really had a chance to use it till we got it swapped out.
