There's an interesting parallel between the Burton as Schumacher movies in that they both stuck to Batman to a certain extent in their first attempt; made the money, then were given license for their sequels which were both very much Burton and Schumacher rather than being about the Bat

Just hearing them talk about how excited they are for the Dark Knight Rises brings back the crushing disapointment I had when I finally saw that film. After how amazing the Dark Knight was Rises was just such a tragic failure for me.

I really don't think the Burton films are dark at all. There is a difference between a film being dark and being gothic or vulgar. The stuff that makes a movie dark is not a dark color scheme, but an intense nature, dark subject matter and themes that are mature for a young audience. And to me the Burton Batman films just don't have those and are just cheesy and films that really do not know what they want to be.

It baffles me that these so called batman fans don't have a clue on the batman Adam West 66 series, with out that series, good chance we wouldn't have any of the following batman movies, seeing the creators behind the following series watched, loved, and got inspired through that 66' series..The show was meant to be campy, that was the whole reason that Adam picked up the role, also, IMO he's the real deal, the other actors just played the part, west lives the part (even if it's campy, no other actor is seen as batman as him, when the series started in 66, and he's booking gigs as the batman in 2014) not seeing Bale, Keaton, Clooney etc etc etc dooing that. oh and, that shark spray.. he didn't have that in his belt, that was on in his batcopter ;)

***** Did i say the 66' show was 'loyal' to the source material??????? NO! i said, with out the 66's series batman would've died out.. which means sonny, that this dark knight returns never even would have been made.. really need to READ the comments before you feel the need to join in with your two cents.. you probably never even read TDKR judging the lack of understanding other peoples comments on YT and are just going off by that dispicable Snyder crap? Seeing you cap your statement off by 'with out the 80's comics we wound't have any of the movies" let me tell you, i can live with out the movies, specially when they come out to be like Batman V Superman, green lantern, or any of the X-men movies, i'll be sticking with the comics if you don't mind... i suggest you read millers TDKR (only that not DK2 that sucks) i can point to so many other good books, but you probably waiting for the animated version of when hollywood decides to rape multiple storylines in to one movie.

Batman 89'- Decent movie not well written, falls apart in the third act and makes no sense. 6-10 Batmam Returns- Not Batman, makes absolutley zero fucking sense. 3.5-10 Batman Forever- My opinion has changed about this movie, it has the best flowing script throughout the first movies, Val Kilmer was the best Batman to this point. 7-10 Batman and Robin- In the words.of Jermey.... DOGSHIT. 0-10 Batman Begins- Great preformances, writing, and shooting. 9-10 The Dark Knight- The best superhero film ever, Heath Ledger is phenomenal. 10-10 The Dark Knight Rises- Not Great, OK writing, decent flow and pacing, and still great preformances. 7.5-10
