Today’s voyage features Sea Clef embarking on the final leg of our Great Loop adventure as we enter the Trent Severn Waterway. This will be the first in a series of videos that takes us through Canada’s Trent Severn Waterway.
The Trent-Severn Waterway is a 386-kilometre-long (240 mi) canal route connecting Lake Ontario at Trenton to Georgian Bay, Lake Huron, at Port Severn. Its scenic, meandering route has been called "one of the finest interconnected systems of navigation in the world".
The canal was originally planned to serve as a military route, but the first lock, when opened in 1833 as a commercial lock. The full lock system would not actually be complete until the summer of 1920. However, by that time, it’s use commercially was no longer viable, and the canal became a pleasure craft route that today, is one of Ontario’s major tourist attractions.
We traversed the first 7 locks on the Trent Severn in today’s video, traveling just 16.1 nautical miles over the course of 6 ½ hrs. We departed at 9:00 am from Trenton that day, arriving at 3:30 pm on the top side (or having completed) Lock 7.
After arriving and navigating Lock 7, we went over to the Glen Ross General Store for some ice-cream!

Sea Clef is a what? Draft, length, power etc details lacking is the reason no one is hitting the "like" button. Sorry 'bout that'...

Some of our other videos cover the details but she’s 42 ft waterline length and her draft is 42”. She has twin Cummins 330 HP diesels. Have a look at some of our “tour videos” if you have an interest. This is not really a video that lives on its own with all the answers. We have 70 or 80 videos with a variety of content. I think people who follow our channel would get tired of hearing the specs on each video so we make separate videos with that info. Thank you for your feedback, and hopefully I have answered your questions! Have a great day!
