First time watching this show. Finally a break from the mediocrity in the Kenyan media. 10 more Nana Gecagas and the positive impact on society will be inevitable. Quite an inspiration. Phil Director good job.
Just browsing and saw the name. I am glad I watched this. The name have nothing to do with the dedication I noted. Nana, I do not know you but knew your grandma and granddad your Dad and Auntie Noni. That was during the 60/70s. I must say you are one in a million young Kenyans who has passion and energy that's rare. Having listened to you and your history, you are the best example of a determined young intellectual of your time who needed to be where she could burn her energy. To love your job not for personal reasons but to prosper Kenya in Tourism Industry is a credit of high degree. You are talented, well spoken, beautifully humble as you present yourself. A job well done by a young CEO. You are still young and excited with much energy. Look for another spot to elevate in our beloved Kenya. We should be on the world map again for best reasons badly needed today.
I love how she articulated her words with precision. I learned so much from this interview and I can tell her energy is awesome! She is an iron lady who worked so hard during her tenure and has a good track record, but few Kenyans will always dispute that. Nana deserves flowers for her achievements and accomplishments.
Nana's Tenure spoke for itself...from generating revenue, marketing Kenya on the global scale and doing all these while being a MOM ! I mean ... You really can have it all when you put structures in place !🤍🤍🤍
WOW NANA IS AS REAL AS CAN BE. I was in school with her Mum n Aunties. In fact her Aunty on her Dads side was my prefect. We tend to forget that coming from such a high profile family makes one unreal. 🎉 GO GAL GO..... MAY THE ALMIGHTY GOD BE YOUR PERSONAL FRIEND AND MINISTER
Nana has a brilliant mindset being in the Tourism Sector and Revolutionarising it, Has made me feel more prouder as a Kenyan, Phil thanks for the awesome interviews
Inspite and despite are the two words that come to my mind.Nepotism angle, being young, dyslexic, dedicated mum , recovering alcoholic and alot that could not be unpacked during this session ,i love the fact that this has brought out the human touch to leadership. Phenomenal woman.
Go getter my ass? This is somebody who has never had to work for money, she has never achieved anything. When I read some comments here I see how stupid people are
The immediate Kenyatta family are actually very financially disciplined and not into flaunting their wealth. Especially the Mama Ngina clan. She guards that wealth like a hawk and is the engine behind that business empire. Mzee Jomo left her land but she turned that around to a business empire with REAL businesses. Udi Gecaga seems to have raised this lovely and level headed lady with similar discipline. This govt could use her natural talent in the Tourism sector but sadly the UDA manufactured class warfare does not allow "Dynasties" in the fake "Hustler" space. Otherwise great conversation. btw, her mom (Jenny) was also a GREAT sprinter in her day.
Um, when the family patron bought land with his eyes, you're taught to not flaunt your wealth otherwise old wounds might be opened and just like that you lose everything. Remember Mugabe sons. Sadam sons. But kudos to them for doing they home work and not going that way.
What a genuine Kenyan tourism ambassador, Nana is an inspiration to many souls across the globe through her life experience. Wish could meet her. Well done, Nana.
Bro ytou are going places. I have been here since 6k subscribers. I love your CONSISTENCY, Dedication and focus. The lecturers you have been bringing potrays the kind of a person you are destined to become. I watch ALL your content. I must confess I really had a wrong perception about Gecaga. Never knew shes this knowledgeable. Asante sana . You inspire me so much
Excellent engagement, very deep and insightful. Nana, you are gifted and a leader in your own right. Your vulnerability about alcohol also allows us to see your inner strength. We celebrate you.
I've always felt like Deep down she's a vibe.. Haven't met her probably will never but I've always had that DEEP GUT FEELING she's GOOD PEOPLE.... Irrespective of what people say or hear or have assumptions about her... DEEP DOWN SHE'S A GOOD SOUL...
Listening to Nana reminds me of my good friend Benita Bagaire. Kindly try get her onto the show. Brilliant, articulate forward thinking. If we searched deep enough, there is still hope for the country.
I learned a lot. There was a lot I didn't know about Nana. Like she was a top sprinter. She mentioned Jennifer Hudson. Not many people know that Jennifer's now ex-husband is half-Kenyan, from a Kenyan father. I had no idea that Wyclef Jean came to Kenya. Must have been when I was abroad for school, coincidentally where Nana said she went to high school, Boston, Massachusetts. The university that her uncle attended, Amherst isn't that far away from Boston, probably nearer than Naivasha is from Nairobi. I make a joke about Wyclef Jean, that Kenyan policemen going to Haiti are just answering the call in his song _Please call 911_ . 47:34 She's right. Kenya exports top notch hospitality professionals, across the world. I know someone in Switzerland. Just recently I learned (from the Chams Media channel) that the GM of a top hotel in _Azerbaijan_ is Kenyan, and he applied for the job from Kenya. I've randomly learned of many, even across Africa.
I'm late for class but here nonetheless. Nana is a gem . I wish she expounded more the dyslexia cus I know a friend with a young dyslexic son and nobody seems to be able to her.. The young boy has been to class four but had to go back to grade one this year and it's so sad to watch his mom who's my friend watch helpless.. We are still behind with such in Kenya... Loved the episode director Phil... You don't know how greatly you are impacting us. ✍️👌
So sad to read that the boy is taken back grades. In UK that is taken seriously and a child is given extra support for the rest of their education and even at work one can notify your employer in order to get support. I am sure that applies in most countries. I remain to be corrected
Ms Gichaga has the intelligence required to be the president of Kenya. She has a magnetic communication method to keep the audience glued to her. She should be put in a place where the country can tap her great knowledge in just about everything!
I love nana, she is very intelligent lady who had good ideas for tourism industry, how can I get contact with her,coz I love tourism, what am lacking is ideas and guide,I have in this industry for 17years now.
Phil is a great listener. He allowed the story to flow and with that we got the opportunity to really grasp the most from Nana's journey.Your intent is really to allow your audience to learn the most.We will keep clapping for you classmate.
Alot of misconception about Nana based on her family background. Despite all that she knows her craft, humble, articulate, fearless and Bold. She deserves that Tourism Docket for the longest.
OMG the English! Probably she had William Shakespeare as class teacher in her elementary schooling. I'm happy she recovered from alcoholism. Kenyatta family should tap into this lady för there industries and marketing.
People are lazy in understanding others especially those whom sensation can be easily whipped up. To agree to work at KICC is not for the faint hearted. But on the personal, other big names find spouses...One can't blame being alone on one's name.
