The opportunity you have provided your Dad, is just tremendous Jack. To not only rebuild the car but being able to have him pilot it one last time around the mountain must be truly special. Congrats to all involved and well done to Larry for not just pottering around and having a dip 💪😁.
The haters and critics are what's wrong with this crazy world. They enjoy bringing others down. This was an awesome project Jack. I've enjoyed every second of all your videos. The cars and the drivers were awesome on the day. Must have been a real buzz for LP. Thanks for entertaining us Jack. Keep up the great work.
🇭🇲 A heartfelt thanks to you both Jack & Larry for the superb camera placement work you have put into getting this out to us life long Perkins fans, it's without question very good, and again as Mike Raymond said all those years ago in 93, "PERKINS BY THE COUNTRY MILE" Jack your efforts and commitment to keeping the memories alive is appreciated more than you know mate, thank you 🤝 Regards, Jamie from Newcastle.
Best bathurst footage I've watched in a long, long time. This was the last great era of cars and drivers. Real men in real cars. Larry can still pedal it too, just shows you never lose it. A real privilege to watch him at work again, and an absolute testament to your effort Jack, and that of your band of helpers. Car looks and sounds superb. Sensational video!
Absolute legend, wish we could see more of Larry and the good ol boys racIng around Bathurst together in period correct cars like this, bought back so many memories ❤
Great video Jack your dad has still got it absolutely as one in the car , and the smile on Larry face says it all . And don't worry about the detractor comments most haven't driven a race car and have no idea what it takes to drive one or drive one at ten tenths. Cheers.
Awesome to see Larry behind the wheel thank you Jack for making it happen. There are some people out who have no idea who Larry Perkins is if that engine showed any signs of having an issue Larry would have parked it the man knows his shit.
Hahaha yeah exactly! Not sure you would go to the effort we have restoring it to then drive it around and damage it beyond comprehension! Especially someone with significant mechanical sympathy like LP! Cheers!!!
As they say,,,Haters are gonna hate. Loved watching those old cars going around the track myself. Brought back many a weekend spent in front of the TV watch these legends go around. And the drivers weren't half bad either...
If only racecam in the 90’s was as good as a go pro is today. That was unreal to watch your dad take the old winning beast for another hot lap of the mountain,be proud of your involvement Jack and stuff the neigh sayers.
Jack your dad is such an amazing driver I watch this a couple of times a week.A 308 or351clevo at full noise there is nothing better. What speed is your dad doing down conrod.Amazing thankyou.
Great car, beautifully prepared. Larry must have been having flashbacks! This is my favourite race car on my favourite track. Full marks to Jack and the team.
I literally only found the channel recently, And oh my gosh it’s amazing. Especially the cars and your family business, Keep you the good work Jack and Larry. 👍
Hope this isn't the end for the car because I hope that for me as a big fan of your family, Jack that us fans see the car in a lot more races in the future. It would be a shame if it wasn't. But it was great to see it at the Bathurst 1000 just like it was back in old days. Love it. ❤
Thank you … this brings back some very special memories. Really miss this era of racing, but I miss most the independent engineering and innovation of the race teams, and the other competition that was going on, like Autronic Vs Motec, Dunlop Vs Bridgestone and obviously, engineers Vs engineers … I preferred the race teams rather than just the driver or Ford Vs Holden. This allowed for so much more competition and the ability for a cash poor team with an excellent engine builder and quality driver to compete, or come from behind in long distance races … now it’s (in my very humble opinion) more just about the driver and like watching the Toyota 86 series.
magic memory's jack LP's win in 93 for me was a Brabham moment in Australian sport if you like, old boy lifted this country to it's feet well the true Holden fans anyway loved it cheers
Gee Jack She looks like it pulls well up Mountain Straight great to see Your Dad giving it some, Ford Bloke Always but Big fan of Larry and You Cheers Mick.
Keep up the great work guys its so cool to see LP still having fun in his retirement. The haters are going to hate don't let them deter you guys the internet is full of know it all's. Keep the vids coming thanks Jack and LP.
Jack I have to say the camara position you set in the car is perfect, lots of times people place them terrible so all you see are the drivers feet or the sky. Very well done.
Damn shame you can no longer by a true Aussie made car with a V8. Even with the fuel price going up I am keeping mine. You can't beat that sound and this true Holden V8 sounds wonderful. Ace work on this car, Jack. All credit to you and the team. Seeing Larry behind the wheel at Bathurst was worth the trip over.
Lovely to watch Larry. And thanks Jack for putting it together. Edit: up to the dash cam now. Holy shit it got even better. Confidence grew with every lap! 👍 Awesome to watch.
I'm 41 years old and have been watching V8 touring cars/supercars since I can remember. I also watched many, many of the classic Bathursts on VHS with my Dad from before I was born. But that Perkins '93 VP Commodore is my all-time favourite🙂
Well, that was very enjoyable. Good to see LP back behind the wheel again at Bathurst, and credit to you Jack for your perseverance and the level of detail you have gone to in rebuilding your Dads car back to its former glory. Very impressive indeed!
That took me back to the good old days of V8 supercars. It makes me think how much better the cars were back then, simple, great sounding and still very fast. Well done Jack on such an awesome resto. Seeing Larry out the back of the garages back in the early 2000s is still one of my all-time great memories at Bathurst, Been to 13 of them too.
Would love to know what ya dad thought of the drive after going for a thrash around the best track in the country even though he’s done tons of laps around the place 😅 well done guys !
keep up the great work mate .... love your content and especially loved the series on the rebuild of the 93 car. Dont let the haters / dislikes / safety police get to you mate, I have been putting out content since 2006 and have thousands of hours produced and still to this day I have people who nit pick what I do. I figured out long ago to just do what I do and focus on the people I am making happy with my content ..... keep up the great work mate.
Hi Jack, bloody awesome mate and thanks for sharing!. You and all of your family must of been so proud seeing LP running around the mountain again. fancy someone saying the a Perkins Engineering car would fail😂😂😂 and as for the peanuts who disliked these videos I bet they would of pissed their pants if they were in the passenger seat!. Cheers
Now this is Bathurst as I remember it. So much nostalgia. It’s almost like a remastered version of 93 in HD. Awesome work Jack, and so good to see LP enjoying another well earned victory lap. Arm on the window. Exceptional.
Oh man this is just brilliant, thanks for all your hard work on the car Jack, your dad was just fantastic. Between ep 51 and ep 52 these are easily the highlights of the weekend. What a treat!
I commented on episode 51 and I’ll say it again you should be proud of yourself Jack for the time and effort you have put into this project with the best quality outcome! The fact that you are starting to see a few negative comments is because your channel has grown so much that it unfortunately has attracted some less intelligent people who can’t help themselves but be negative. Don’t let the minority of negative people get you down. I love your videos, I’m subscribed and alerted for all new content and don’t miss one!! Ps: did you get a chance to run this awesome machine around Bathurst for a little lap or two?
I know for a fact Brocky is the king of the mountain but your dad was something else with those spectacles, always thought can this bloke see where he is going... What engineer is he ??? This vid looks recent and he has got his old skills on board and still driving hard on the gas. Long live Larry, hope the best at old age, take care... Keep driving....
Dear Jack, forget about the thumbs down and rumours. You're doing an amazing job and jealousy is a curse for the losers. LOVING EVERY minute of this magnificently restored number 11 getting around Bathurst. My buddy went to the race and snapped me some photos of the car out the back of the pits. I couldn't be there, but it looks and sounds incredible buddy. Well done 😁😁
Watching live when they interviewed him just before they drove I was ready for him to bust out a few key LP choice of words but he was well behaved haha, great to see it up there again Jack, what a machine.
Cant believe all the call outs and stuff from the last video. This content is so awesome. I loved this era of V8's and Larry was the team to beat always. Thanks for sharing this with us Jack and well done on such a quality build. A credit to you and the team.
Copy & paste from ep1 comment -A champion driver, a champion car with a real gearbox, short shifting from time to time and perfect heel toeing. This 77 yo was taken back in time. PLUS I've just found out LP is human ... apparently he missed a couple of gear changes! LOL Thanks again LP & JP, you do the Perkins name a great honour.
Haters are great........means there's more LP and #11 for us. The footage of Larry coming out of forest elbow on to Conrod and into the chase really brings back my greatest memories of how he built the cars he raced and raced against. Great times. Thanks for another great episode Jack. 19:28
Superb work for everyone involved, a real pleasure to be able to watch this. I’ve followed since the start of the project and glad to see it driven the way it should be!
Just a thought maybe the 10 who didn’t like the last video we’re typing whilst inebriated 😅 Man that resto is spot on Good to see LP absolutely having a ball
Old LP has done lots of laps at Bathurst and he just looking like he's out for a "Sunday drive"... well I guess it was. Onya LP, still one of the Mountain's legends, and a good bloke.
Yep, to give it some context he would've been 19th or 20th in the first sports sedan practice session on the same weekend!!!! Not bad for a guy who hasn't really driven or raced since 2003 in a 1993 spec car!
