Great episode. Love Elizabeth's sweater, she seems like a lovely person. Thank you too for sharing so many good suggestions and teachings. Very helpful! I know how you feel about ripping back all that work on your sweater.....i did a colorwork yoke sweater that rippled. i didn't FROG, i just kept it and will wear it as a working sweater around the house in winter. it's warm and I just can't frog after all that work! Congratulations on 3 years of podcasting. I suggest ripping your Blueberry Vodka tee back to underarm to then start helical knitting. My maths formula to get garment size correct is ... number of stitches knitted across 10cm, divided by 10, multiplied by chest measurement you want to create. Then look for number of stitches that is close to this number once garment is split from sleeves & joined in the round. Happy knitting. Barbara.

Congratulations and thank you for another most enjoyable podcast. I would rip back to the armhole on your Blueberry Vodka Tee - that takes out one area that is very light and one that is overly dark - then, don't you think that helical knitting with the light and the dark will bring it right. I'm with you on the working out gauge adjustments - it's like overthinking it - you get to a certain point where it doesn't matter what you think it seems wrong. You have to walk away and come back a couple of hours later and it always just falls into place.
@UnwindandKnitwithMe

Lisa, what have you got to lose with the Blueberry Vodka Lemonade. Rip back to under the arms then start helix knitting. If it pools. Then it rip out. as it takes 1/8th of the time to do that than to knit. But put your worked yarn into skeins and either steam or wash. So that the worked knitting doesn't cause uneven stitches when you re-knit. The inaccurate gauge was a learning curve. I pulled out 3/4 of the "Born on the Beach"dress I was knitting having reached just above the underarms. As my gauge was out. I pulled it all out. Skeined up the linen. Washed it, then rewound into balls. I havent re-cast on yet. I only have till 1st week September to complete as its to go with me to be worn in Egypt and Jordan.
@UnwindandKnitwithMe
@UnwindandKnitwithMe Месяц назад
Thank you i will take your advice and pull it out to under arm and start helical from there. And yes gauge does take some time to get right, im sure if we keep having the conversation it will soon make sense. I still know a lot of people that just say no, they never swatch.

Hi Lisa, thanks so much for such a meaty podcast :) I wouldn't frog your Raspberry and Lemonade jumper, it really doesn't look bad, at least it doesnt come across that different on the screen. Would you consider finishing then over dying it? Anyhoo, it is how you see it that counts. The FO cardigan is just gorgeous, there must be hours of knitting in that intricate lace. I will definately email you re the maths/gauge formula, Im looking forward to pouring over it, I think you did really well to explain it as you did! Congratulations on 3 years of podcasts....I believe I have enjoyed and watched every single one :) Thank you for everything.

Congratulations on 3 years, Lisa! For the Blueberry Vodka Lemonade top, why don't you rip it back to under the arms and do a long fade in with the new ball and alternate that with your next skein from there? Just save a bit of the darker one to add into the sleeves in the same way? Just an idea that might save it for you
@UnwindandKnitwithMe

Have you thought of finishing your blueberry vodka lemonade and then overdye it by saturating it in an acid/water bath and blot with a similar coloured dark dye steam fix it maybe? You're a great dyer, I'm feeling this could work? I fear you've already frogged it though. I've always hated the different sized eyelets going from a y/o to a purl and y/o to a knit in lace and I never remember to research how to avoid it. Congrats on the 3 years, I've only been watching for a few months but I really love your content.

I love your podcast but maybe don’t try teaching things like swatching! Sorry. There are plenty of great tutorials on these things out there. I totally glazed over listening to that 😳😳 otherwise thanks for another interesting podcast 🥰
@UnwindandKnitwithMe
@UnwindandKnitwithMe 26 дней назад
Thanks for the feedback, I did say i'm not great at teaching but i thought if I talked about it more often that people would eventually take it on board, as I speak so often to customers that never swatch and don't believe that it is necessary so i thought that if we kept having this conversation that swatching would become more accepted with knitters that don't swatch. But thank you for your feedback.
