If you're going to do something do it right or at least to the best of your ability! There is still a lot of room for improvements and a lot to learn. I'm excited about the challenge.

Wow very insightful information Travis i am learning that movement as a righty or lefty is very important in judo i am a righty and watching your videos on how to place you hands on the gi as a righty or lefty is very important as well as movement to the proper side is key to throwing your opponent.

Thanks George that means the world to me! I think it might be time to write up a fundamental judo course from white to brown and start educating people on how powerful systematic learning can be.

Agree, no defense, he is heavy handed which keeps his defense from existing.

Seems like the main theme running throughout these analysis videos are... righty- right foot forward, lefty- left foot forward.

The basics are the hardest thing to learn because people feel like they don't need to pay attention to them.

Some excellent insight. Just my 2 cents, when he’s going for the left throw I think what’s missing is the connection at the hips. I think if he made a connection at the hip it would essentially be a fulcrum for the throw and one where it’s more difficult to resist. It’s similar to El Nahas vs. Frey at Montreal 2019.

Really great analisys!!! Much better fighting like a pure lefthanded. I haver the same problem swiching sides and It causes me much troubles. And also I liked Aaron's ne-waza attempts. Like a true Travis Stevens fan, I can't stand when judokas don't try ne-waza, or do it only for spending time.

Mr. Travis, hello. i have a newbie question, about the guards in Judo, any kind of guard is inefficient ? even sweep´s oriented ones like butterfly or de-lariva? i never trained Judo, but i enroled in Bjj, and now trying to undestand the nuances of grappling on feet. thanks. Regards from Brazil.
