Hahaha…love this! Personally, I don’t see that you belong to any other category but simply the category of who you are, which shows your curiosity about life’s meaning for you, about art, history, food, travel; what you are passionate about; what you relate to…and your desire to share, and to inform your public, friends, and family, those things that impact your perspective. Not only is this category of you, and what you share, fascinating, but also deeply heartwarming. In my opinion, your self-questioning, your dedication to understanding yourself, and discovering how you can expand into your best, and most comfortable “Self”…something that will always be fluctuating…is the key to what attracts me to your videos and monologues. Your love of Paris..France..the world, and the knowledge you share about how to have better experiences when visiting, is just an extra perk! Thank you!
I am so guilty of wanting to "have it all solved". I hate chaos. I appreciate your honesty about how difficult the daily vlogging was. And i do hope that the "80 in 8" does resurface someday. Though not necessarily with a deadline. But just touring/ learning about each individual neighborhood was extremely interesting. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Take care!
I hear you on so many levels, Jay. Taking the pressure off oneself makes all the onerous life problems less wearisome and small gestures go a long way. Thanks, man. I miss Paris terribly...
When I lived in Paris 25 years ago, I would prep friends and family before they got here about how to behave and interact with the locals and EVERYONE had a good time. No stereotypical rude waiter stories because they knew how to act and order before they arrived. They loved it so much that they prefer the French restaurant experience of proper ordering protocol and not being interrupted by someone asking "How's your meal?" every 15 minutes. Just eye contact when you need something is SO much easier and less disruptive. And the "Bonjour/Bonsoir ____" to start a dialog made it all smooth sailing.
Hey your approach to Paris videos and when you’ve travelled other places, has been so good and I’ve used that mentality when I’m travelling. I love travelling but it’s overwhelming! Even just how you make it ok to take your own pace, be curious about just wandering streets and really getting a feel for the space you’re in. So just posting this to remind you that you have changed my perspective to travel (and really, doing life) and love following your journey :) and yay puppy!
