While you speak of trying to pull the head of the femur from the acetabulum, could you reverse the study & show what happens when the head of the femur is compressed into the acetabulum in the situation where an individual falls ~30 feet w leg fully extended, say from a disabled helicopter traveling ~45 knots. Problem encountered is a snapping sensation deep to the head of the femur for ~60 years. PT exercises exacerbate the problem as do osteo manipulations. ¿Suggestions?

Hi Robert, With a traumatic impact like that there could be an injury to any part of the hip structure. Acetabulum or femoral head/neck fracture, labral injury, ligamentous or muscular injury too. After all this time the body will have adapted and there may be osteophytic growth (little bone spurs) or fibrosity of soft tissue. You’ll only know for sure with imaging - hope you find the right person/path to help 👍
