I mean after this many episodes I don't think there's anything a regular listener would not expect from a doctor in Iraq, nothing strange here it's your problem my friend 😂
The fact that JT originally named his channel that way is quite ironic) Especially when you consider that in the beginning he was well, not about socialism at all.
@Levente Gyimesi remember that for a lot of people, the other format is easier to consume If anything, I think it will serve as a nice gateway to spark interest in the podcast since it's more adequate for the algorithm to recommend (even accounting for left-wing unfavourability)
I came here because I know and like Hasan and JT's content, but Yugopnik really won my heart here from his analysis and hosting prowess. This was a fantastic collaboration and this encouraged me to check out the pod and hosts' channels I didn't know about :)
I knew it was going to happen just by a coincidence. Was watching a bit of hasan stream and he live on stream was like: "i need to go on deprogram one day. You know what? fuck it, I am writing to Ygopnik right now. Ok done, he will sort the rest out". And then just complete silence about it until the podcast itself.
The thought of Hasan introducing two Marxist-Leninists (who are respectively an Iraqi doctor and a ex-Yugoslavian man) to Ironmouse for the purpose of creating some VTuber avatars is making my day
I'm waiting for the Deprogram Vtuber arch. It's unironically a great way to have your avatar with your characterizations or personalities and interact with audience that way, And as someone who enjoys this kind of thing, I think we miss a talking Lenin head.
I'v been an anti-capitalist for now over 10 years. You guys are intertainment. You remind me that there is people like me all over the world and it makes me feels good. Thank you for that!
@@poopoo-dk4hu (lol pee pee poo poo) I've been really busy w/ college and work so I barely have time to listen to the deprogram, let alone Hank Pecker :(
Pretty sure he dilutes and dumbs down his politics on his twitch because if he came out as a full on communist he would get cancelled or shut down because most of twitch is right wing and most of his viewers are soc-dems at best and still support US government propaganda against socialist countries
he's less nuanced than a lot of leftists on the internet are. because of that, he gets hate for being imprecise and wishy-washy. but that's by design, you'd easily scare off most people if you tried to just dump a shit ton of theory on them. he's a good entryway to leftism, and now that I've been here for a good few years, he's more just a fun streamer I can watch who will (almost) never have bad takes.
Right! It's perfectly curated & also a fantastic entry point for lib family members 😂 I'm sending it to my mom & sister for sure. I created a politics playlist for mom & random one for my sis. Been popping those vids in there. Trying to get my mom to get out of the grip of MSNBC/CNN & enlighten my sis on the basics I've learned. First Thought is fantastic.
this podcast (and their own individual channels) + hasan make keeping up with the news so much less daunting and isolating. their sense of humor is so needed!
i think he definitely knows the limits in order for him to not completely lose like the majority of the (especially american) public that’s been inundated with such anti-communist propaganda. he walks the line and i think it’s for the better
@@expropriationbarbie even when he's trying to keep himself "safe" enough for the normie audience people are still outraged that " SOCHIALIS MAN HAV HOUSE AND NO HUNGRI "
@@expropriationbarbie it’s not just a limit for his audience, it’s the limit for the glowies feds too. I remember that Hasan has talked about him and JT have some FBI files during the time that JT tried to request FOIA request on himself.
Delayed happy birthday, JT. And yes, by shifting the overton window to the left you already do a crucial job in feeding the cultural landscape necessary for a revolution. Paired with some direct contact with social inequality, it's pretty powerful and mobilizing.
Let’s fucking gooo, I’ve been waiting for Hasan to come on the boys’ podcast. Hasan was my jump point into socialism which lead me to finding Hakim, then JT and Yugopnik, so really cool to see.
that’s so cool! for me it was the opposite, i liked the others first individually before they made the pod and then i started watching hasan and starting loving his content and realizing he’s not how leftists portray him
This is why having "forward facing" Marxists with a large reach is so important. Online leftists can hand wring all they want, but the scores of young people de-radicalized from the right and radicalized to the left is huge, having easy entry points into an ideology that is so fundamentally antagonistic to what someone has been told their whole life is so important
@@danielomar9712 and also apparently is a flat earther Some random guy replying to a comment on a RU-vid short said he does so he doesn’t I’m not a complete dumbass okay
I love how there's three different levels of getting them in person, from easy to nightmare. The Yank is two states away in Texas, The Slav is deep in Slavic europe, The Doctor is halfway across the fucking planet in the middle east
@@JaseekaRawr he probably meant stream, my 70 year old aunt asked me “what’s a podcast?” I told her it’s anything from 1 nerd talking to the camera… or doing something while not talking to the camera, she said, “so it’s just a show on the internet”, I said “it could be, or not”. She then says “well then what’s streaming mean?” I said “it’s live and unedited, some streams are ALWAYS on,usually not planned, unless it’s actually just a stream of actual tv shows”. She was confused… I told her “you broadcast a tv program, cuz its sent thru the air, you stream a podcast cuz it’s sent thru a cord on the net.” That kinda helped til I told her that none of that is 100% set in stone and always true… she sighed and then… I swear.. she says “what does WOKE mean?” 💀 ☠️ 🪦… funny thing is that’s she’s about as woke as a 70 year old lady in Kentucky could be! Even tho she’s drowning in right wing rhetoric that she hears and doesn’t recognize as propaganda. I tried to explain but didn’t get far , I eventually gave in and agreed that it’s just a label, but beyond that I don’t think she got it at all…and of course when I link her a 30 minute vid from “Then&Now” channel entitled “WOKISM” (which described the history and the the co-opting of the word very well) she literally says “I AM NOT watching some stupid RU-vid thing for an hour!” But she had just finished an hour of the stargate show and was settling in to watch another hour or 2 🤯 How do you send 2-4 hours watching the same old crappy series on reruns EVERYDAY, and then refuse to listen to 30 minute of educational content that’s actually entertaining… People are hard to understand, but it’s also a hard world to understand, especially for old folks…
20 months sub to hasan, 18 months sub to second thought and much more of leftist youtube, 10 months ago I did volunteer work for the leftist party in Québec, and Im now a member of La Riposte Socialiste. so thank you guys very much
believe it or not, it was actually in the public domain for a long time until some rando american corp tried to copyright claim it and even managed to collect 14mil$ in licensing revenue until their claim was dismissed and they had to pay it all back 🤣
Chatter: "What's your view on Second Thought being a Tankie" Hasan: "... I hope he drives a tank to your house, take a week off and think about how stupid you are as a person"
Hey, great episode! As a brazilian ML, I loved when Rakim mentioned Jones Manoel. Here in my country we are having a great wave of socialist radicalization through social media, channels like "História Cabeluda", "História Pública" and "Assim Disse o João" are creating real, although relatively small change in brazilian culture. You guys should think of having some of them on. I think João Carvalho of "Assim Disse João" and Ian Neves of "História Pública" speak english fluently. And if Rakim becomes a vtuber he should be a talking Lenin head in a busty anime girl body.
Technically you can join in, since Romania is counted in the Balkans and every Balkan country needs to have their main enemy nationality to exchange insults with
It blows my mind how awkward hasan can be on mic with all of his deep experience being on mic, that being said nice guest and great way to keep growing
He's talked abt it before but like it's mostly bc he spent so much of his time practically talking to himself or his chat. He unintentionally became a shut-in lol
Nah, most of them are fine. I personally can't wait to see Twitter arguing over how much Hasan became a Tankie Stalinist and how it fits their narative of him being pro Putin or some shit.
I am a ML and I love Hasan. He is very important to the online leftist scene. He normalises and gives legitimacy to socialism as a political system worth pursuing. He is the leftist equivalent to the Ben Shapiro's and shit. A twitch streamer with 40k viewers being an open socialist is very important.
now this is what i come to this podcast for, lamajun discussions. my go to is parsley, labneh, and garlic for lamajun toppings, also throw in some olives when im feeling ambitious or want to impress someone.
Great convo! Love to see more people on the left do crossovers and grow each other's audiences to spread the message as much as possible. Thank you guys
@@goutamboppana961 hasan had a 'debate' with trainwreckstv and train kept telling hasan to make a SYSTEM where wealth is distributed to the less fortunate. and hasan is saying he is literally describing charity and charity is not socialism. in short: train kept substituting the word charity with SYSTEM
@@JordanJumpin I think it's even dumber than that. The way Train described it, it sounded to me like he wanted Hasan to make a private insurance company owned by him for his twitch viewers where he pays for their insurance with the money he makes on twitch. That's how fucked Train's brain has been by capitalism. He thinks Socialism is when "wealthy" Socialists make and pay for private insurances or something...
@@JordanJumpinTrue! Trainwrecks actually tried to meaningfully change the lives of his viewers and Hasan just.. said "so charity lul" and went back to flying private jets to burning man lmao
Boys, I think it's a good idea to have a discussion about neurodiversity. I enjoy the light-hearted humor on the subject, but I think it's time to have an actual constructive discussion about that intersection, as well as some latent ableism still present in a lot of leftist communities.
Honestly with the bro jokes I don't even know if this is where that conversation would be best held. They sure could USE that conversation, but I think it needs to be a guest appearance giving a more or less presentation-style discussion
I think that this "skin color" conversation was generated in the US. It was never an issue or even something to comment on in the Mediterranean (where I come from) for centuries. Then, I guess the Anglo-Saxons needed to separate people in manners other than class and invented this "great concept".
As a brazilian, the mention to Jones Manoel caught me by surprise. He's brilliant, and he's being of great value on the radicalization of many here in Brazil.
I have a similar arc. Moved to US from UK in the '80s. Finally at 50 back in UK. Cannot express how happy I am to be home. The US is insane now. I sound crazy when trying to explain my American experience. Utterly hellish.
I dont feel bad saying this because Hasan has a cool job and shit like a house but hes way more thoughtful and interesting than his reputation suggests. I thought he was another Vaush.
You know Hasan is so humble relating to his privileges, I love that about him. He never takes his privileges for granted! You guys are killing it! Love to all you beautiful beautiful comrades.
