#75 With The Hobbit hitting screens in one week, the Schmoes formed their own fellowship to discuss the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy and the The Hobbit. Mark Reilly and Josh Macuga came in studio and joined returning guest co-host Tiffany Smith of G4 for two hours of Tolkien. All things were discussed including LOTR trivia and interesting tidbits, casting, favorite scenes, and the key moments of each film. Also, each person on the podcast names their favorite fellowship member... so who takes home the prize?
Also, producer Ken Napzok gets a T-shirt, Josh the Intern returns, and Tweet A Celebrity finds it's next target. All this and more on episode 75 of the Schmoes Know Podcast.

Favorite scene from Return of the King is when Gandalf is comforting Pippin when they think they're going to die. I love that the writers found that excerpt from the book at the end that they loved, and they said "well we can't put it there" so they found another place for it. And Ian McKellen just delivers it with such a great weight.

Lord Of The Rings (all of them together) is my favorite movie all time no doubt, and watching this is kinda forcing me to watch the Extended Blu-Rays again! Great show guys!

My opinion on best of the trilogy to worst (however all are spectacular) 1. The Fellowship of the Ring 2. The Return of the King 3. The Two Towers Oddly enough the ratings on Rotten Tomatoes are in the exact opposite order.

My favourite character is Sam. When I was younger it was Aragorn, mostly because he made me realise why I am a woman. But Sam is really the unsung hero of the story. He manages to resist temptation from the ring and without him Frodo would have given in on the first day alone. My favourite part from the trilogy is aprox. the last 15 mins of Two Towers were Frodo goes crazy and tries to kill Sam, and then Sam makes him realise that even though everything seems hopeless, there is always light at the end. And then the final scene were Frodo calls Sam "Samwise the Brave" and the final shot pans up over the mountains and you see how close they are to Mordor...gives me goosebumps every time.

The lord of the rings movies are better shot and better made films technically than star wars only subjective favoritism keeps the argument alive not knocking star wars just saying i love them both
