Namjoon gives me chills. He was only 19 when BTS debuted. He is the leader of the biggest group in the world. And to speak at the UN (in English).... yes he’s fluent but to be able to speak in your second language in front of world leaders and have a stable voice, I can’t even do that in my native language without messing up terribly. I cannot imagine the amount of pressure he’s under. I respect and admire him so much.
I can't agree more. I feel exactly the same as you. Believe me, RM really gives me chills , goosebumps and I can feel the strong conviction in his voice (he mentioned he did his best not the tremble in his voice to show/held onto the steady voice as much as he could) but his voice shook my heart and made my soul tremble in awe. I truly respect Namjoon.
Namjoon has so much responsibility on him as the leader and the only member who speaks fluently in English. And sometimes we forget that, you can see how nervous he felt, and how hard he’s working. He’s truly the best leader. Fighting Joon! You did amazing 💜

This whole video you can literally feel Namjoons nervousness (as he should be! This is a very important speech!) It touches my heart that even though he’s super nervous and wants to practice, he lets Jungkook take the paper/phone from him to try to read it. He doesn’t tell him off or get angry with him. It’s adorable how Jungkook follows RM through out this whole video, he is so in awe and thankful to him. I love that all the members congratulate RM at the end and let him know how proud they are of him. 💜
I do not understand Korean, but I could guess they were thanking or saying words directed to Namjoon. Thank you for telling as well. RM's tolerance,patience and perseverance shows as well the weight he bears, plus how well he actually takes the responsibility. I am so glad that the world got to hear this speech. I wasn't even aware of BTS's songs when I first heard his speech. I am still in awe and admiration. I can totally understand why Jungkook wanted to follow RM & learn more.

I can't imagine BTS without RM. He is A great factor why bts became a big deal and successful. Almost all of their songs are credited to him, he is the leader, main rapper, and the spokesperson of the team. He'd done so many things in such a young age. Bcoz english is on our subjeck while hangul is not and english was easy to spoke and understand but not to hangul language. It took 2 to 3 years to speak hangul. Im more impressed if my family can speak hamgul than english. Lol
No, he learned English because when he was in high school he went to live in a country that spoke English, that's why he learned it, not just because of the series

RM really has a high regard for ARMY that he even included them in his speech and praised their fandom and to think in the past some fans mocked him and even harassed him to leave the group despite that, he still showed respect and complimented the ARMY fans

I feel so emotional seeing Jungkook looking at Namjoon in this clip. I can feel him. He looks completely proud of Namjoon Hyung, the brother he has looked up for since the first day. Eventhough the future of the band and the company were blurry at that time. He clearly knew his brother was the great person and Jungkook's been right. Namjoon is full of kindness and wisdom. He has always been a person our little shy boy Jongkook feels comfortable with and also the great mentor and a role model of Jungkook.
We as army sometimes tend to forget the fact that Rm is just 26 years old because we visualize him as the leader of the group BTS. But like every normal person he is also a boy in his 20's who is cheerful and very mature at the same time. All I need to say is he deserves more than what he gets from army. 💜

Also seeing Kook being so caught up on watching Namjoon rehearsing for his speech is one of the purest things i've ever witnessed in my life. He admires and loves joon so much, i'm melting:( i can actually see why he said "Hyung looked so big" on his vlive. Even if he's all grown now, he's still the maknae, the one who's constantly learning about life through his hyungs. I'm so happy they have each ther and that they can inspire not only us but themselves as well.

I find it endearing how JK is always revolving around RM. He joined the company because of RM and said numerous times that he learns most from RM out of all his other hyungs. He really does look up to RM...you can tell in the way he tries to learn the words on the script and the many moments he is just in awe of Namjoon as he practices. I’ll just translate the part when Suga starts talking, because the beginning is where they were just telling us how it is an honor to speak at an event that is annually and were in disbelief that it would happen to them. Suga: “Well…not many stars have attended, but I am aware that some stars have done that and I think they created a lot of good influence. But it feels like we are approached in a new method. They said they never had this kind of example before. I don’t think what we always talk about within ourselves doesn’t help much, but the fact that there are people who love us and support us and they put on an action like this is such an amazing thing. RM: if people can talk about the title and think about what loving themselves, that will be enough for us. Then Suga added on saying that ARMYs have been mistreated a lot because people labeled them as “Idol fans” but he said they they are amazing people with amazing stories. He said their actions are actually not as simple as only liking someone. RM: They are the ones making seven of us stand in front of the UN as a spokesman on behalf of them. We are just speaking on behalf of them. We are amazed on how our participation and donation touched so many people to this extent, so it would be nice if we could talk connecting these thoughts. It cuts to Sept. 23 when RM is looking at his speech that he has written on his phone. You can see how nervous RM was when reciting back the speech. Jungkook then comes into screen and sits by him. He was shocked at all those English words. (ㅋㅋㅋ baby bunny is so cute.) He then takes RM’s phone and tries to read it while RM is practicing. Then it cuts to RM again still practicing his speech. Jimin then creeps behind him and stares at the paper. (The maknae line is so cute when they see English words. ㅋㅋㅋ) JImin then was flabbergasted by how many pages of his speech was. ( Jimin-ah, that’s your leader for you, we are so proud of him. ㅠㅠ) Jimin then said before he left that his eyes hurt from all the words, making RM giggled as he continued to read his paper. Then they headed out to New York for the event and still RM was practicing. (Remember kids, Practice makes Perfect👍) Jungkook then steals RM paper and tries to read it. (너무 귀여워~) Still practicing even at the airport. Namjoon-ah we are so proud of you. Your speech was amazing! In the private jet, the boys were picking out their seats and they were so excited like little kids in a candy shop. During their flight, I think Jungkook gave up his seat for RM, due to all the anxiety and nervousness he had. (Whose cutting those onions?! 눈물 ㅠㅠ) You can tell throughout the whole 19 minute video, RM’s anxiety and nervousness was sky high to the roof! Anyone who is an intellect or not would be too, if you’re speaking to a room full of national leaders from all over the world!? Then the scenes cuts to them getting ready and the boys were giving encouraging words to RM and were anxious about the event. At 9:41 봐! 봐! Baby bunny face!! His Jungshook face jumped out!! 😂 RM then tells us in the camera that his speech goes like that and that don’t worry about him in the end he let out his nervous laugh. They met Henrietta H. Fore, the executive director of UNICEF, showed her how to do the finger heart. I found that super cute!! Then they entered the building and then came the speech. He pulled it off really well. In the end of the video, the boys were saying that he did a great job, he looked so cool and RM said that it was the hardest times in his career and that he couldn’t portray better as a leader and for BTS and the boys shook their heads and kept on saying encouraging words like " A dangerous man." “A true leader” “A perfect 10” “BTS and ARMYs General, Captain, Lieutenant” RM tells us that maybe his speech can impact someone’s life at home watching and thanked ARMYs around the world from his bottom of his heart with sincerity for supporting them so that they can attended this event. Namjoon-ah, you did a magnificent job! You touched each and every one’s heart. I was speechless when he delivered it effortlessly even though he was shaking in nervousness. At that time there were people saying that RM’s speech was all about him and his own dreams blah blah, but I think people need to open their eyes more and have a open mind. The boys have worked hard to where they are now. Their dreams of one day could reach people’s hearts have successfully paid off. It’s alright for RM to paint his story in the speech, it gives you a overlook on how far they have come. A dream that they thought they couldn’t but they did. Enough with all this “Solo stans” and “Shipping wars”, Enough with all this “Hate within the ARMYs community” Do you think the boys have not seen our tweets from Twitter, Instagram, Vapp and so forth on social media. They basically are on their phones daily and to continue on doing what we are doing with our selfishness will only hurt them in the long run. Some of us has grown with them since 2013 and there are some that just starting, but no matter the circumstances, love one another as you love BTS. It will show the boys how nicely we meld together as a whole. We, as I-Lovelies and K-Diamonds around the world should be grateful. They have fought, loved, cared and taught us how to love ourselves throughout their many singles, concerts, and albums. I hope that our love for them can continue on for the next 7+ years that we be together, giving them much love and support. You can literally see how much effort Namjoon put in his UN speech. Being tired from concert but still, he was able to practice like it was nothing. Also, you can feel the support and encouragement of his members.
Hearing Jhope's laugh in the beginning made me smile through the whole video. And also Namjoon, he is a humble, hardworking and kind leader. I give my trust and respect to him. He deserves to be a leader.

Not just because of how good your speech was but I was thinking about all the hardships you guys have been through especially you Namjoon ever since you guys debuted. I love how Jungkook is just there, it's..um..He's very supportive and you can tell that he..Namjoon is his role model, the one who he looks up to and admires. Which just makes you remember the fact that RM was the main reason that Jungkook even joined BigHit or BTS.

Just as a side note, I really noticed just how much JK looks up to and adores his RM hyung 😍 I felt like he was always sticking around or nearby whenever RM was practicing. Plus he even switched seats with RM in the plane, even though he "finally got a good seat" (they explained in the vid they usually pick their seats via lottery, and JK usually gets unlucky), because he wanted him to be as comfortable as possible before the big day. Just gotta love their bond and how supportive they all are of each other 💗

I hope people knows the value of rm as human being just not as only idol this is the reason when a 13 year old baby boy who dosen't kno anything jungkook chose rm without any second thought and trusted him blindly and rm is the person people admire to bcome rm is young playful and responsible person who leads his team perfectly
