I love this and will be making one for myself in the near future! As a furniture maker, however, I need to tell you that building a frame around a slab of wood as you did on the top is going to self destruct soon. As the main slab changes with humidity and the seasons, the frame around it will come apart. I learned this lesson when I was 17 and put a maple frame as a border around a chess board I made. Only way to do it is to use plywood for the slab because it doesn't shift in size. Otherwise you did great!
Well done, nice & square etc, elbow grease ? I’m surprised you found some, I asked the young fella at my NAPA store last month for the large economy size tube of “elbow grease” to finish my project. He said “sorry we’re all out, I sold the last tube last week along with the last quart of “ambition” we had. Needless to say I was amazed such a young man knew what I was talking about . It’s always good when some one my junior by 51 yrs knows what I’m talking about ….. a great video indeed 👍❤️
It would be nice to see a new rendition using todays best ideas to make it, but leaving as much of the original design as possible. Somewhere near a CJ but holding the design to it's skeletal configuration as much as possible.
I did a year doing assaults and patrols in a Humvee over in Iraq, I could see the absolute utility in the smaller size of the jeep but i wouldn't wanna get blown up in it.
