In Episode Two of My 2024 LRF Species Campaign, I headed to Plymouth to tick off two Goby Species. I caught Common and Painted Gobys, along with a handful of the normal LRF regulars!
This Series is to highlight any species I add to my yearly tally. Any session where I add something new will be featured in an episode of this series. So follow along as I hunt species throughout 2024 and see where my total ends up.

I realise it’s close up shots of the fish but what dia line are you using. It looks like at least 6lb line.

Its Major Craft Dangan 0.3pe and yeah 6lb. With a 4lb leaded

Nailed it! Cant believe how many species if gobies there are - must be hard to ID some of them on the fly. Beautiful day at Plymouth! Been toying with a day trip to Weymouth but wind and cold discouraging at the moment. Will do it when it warms up a bit.

I live in Weymouth and went to exactly the same spots as Dan did in his last video the very next day. It was futile to say the least! The wayer was like chocolate coupled with 25 mph winds. Dont even bother fishing the piers if the wind is coming from the east

@@londonviking3801 the inner harbour is o.k, but usually mostly gobies and blennys. The summertime sees more species to be honest

Can't catch from at home or in the car lads. Get yourselves down and fish in the nastiest weather. You'll soon rethink the fact you can catch in any conditions. It's what winter lerfing is all about
