"I stole some bubblegum" Just like the song says their "Great at Crime" it takes a true villain. To do such an evil act.

the original shorter version never failed to make me laugh and then they just go and extend it with even more good jokes. This is a delightful theme for the absolutely terrible- I mean amazing criminals, the Banzai Blasters!

I like how in the end D.C. is seemingly content with their loss because, in society’s eyes, a good criminal gets caught because that’s better for society and is like, “yay! We’re such great criminals, we’re getting arrested!” It’s so funny and weirdly wholesome almost lol

I love how the hypothetical story in the first verse is played out in the last verse. "We might trigger an alarm" - "Oh, we triggered the alarm" "But we never come to harm" - "Let's grab this charm, cause what's the harm?" "Before the cops can catch us, we can call my mom" - "I could call my mom for pickup", "But my mama isn't comin'", "The coppers were a big surprise"

The Naga-style hoity laugh at the end is what really sells this for me- D.C. Belle being a "villainess" whose opinion of her talents is delusional, but out of unbridled optimism instead of narcissism. I even imagine she has a Naga-esque back story is actually a wealthy debutante who fell for the Banzai Blaster's creed, wanted friends, wanted to fit in, and part of why it's fun for her is she's rich enough to get out of jail very quickly for her obviously minor offences.

I love the whole vibe of the series with a flat geometric shapes and patterns and the whole jazzy and tone it’s very unique and it’s sad that we don’t really see that in mainstream animation anymore.

Haven't even listened yet and I'm sure it will be a bop and a half. Ready to start pretending I'm a 1920's flapper girl... as soon as I'm on break.

I love the slow shift between the old version and the new version. When you start the video you barely notice a difference, but by the end when the singer is going off and everything is upbeat. It's a total tone shift but done so well. You don't even notice it until you rewatch the video and hear the tone shift.

Not me crying laughing through the entire last chorus..."hit me with the motto fellas" just fills me with glee every time, the harmonies/backup vocals are so chaotic, and the ad-libs sound like someone singing joyfully in the shower before their mom tells them "you sounded very nice :] you can do more crime after you brush your teeth". (Also I've been referring to it as Great At Crime 2: 2 Great 2 Crime.)

Imagine being the cop at 3:24 and the criminal you just arrested is singing about how they shouldn’t have waited for their mom to pick them up and just keeps singing in the car ride to jail

Fun fact, the "Don't call us dumb" and "I stole some bubblegum" are replaced with a different set of rhyming phrases in episode (In episodes 1-4, since in episode five and further it switches to great at cowboy) I believe the bubblegum rhyme is from episode 2

It's amazing the difference in tone concerning the Banzai Blasters, in this song and Great at Cowboy. Here they're just a goofier team rocket, while in the other song, They literally execute a child's parents in front of her

I very much enjoy the main vocalist's Banzai Blaster, especially with how proud she is at getting arrested because it means that they are definitely evil.

The production for this is top-tier. Having Or3o go down an octave for the last half of the chorus was a really smart decision, mostly because the original high notes make for good harmony, and the bass riff during the breakdown is my personal favorite part. Also, speaking as a sucker for rhymes, the lyrics are great. :D
