Woeful in the 2000 Guineas; Brilliant in the Derby. Auguste Rodin is just awesome. A tremendous turn of foot and mightily impressive. What a training feat by the Genius - AOB! Ryan as cool as ever.
Great Genetics have definitely moved on to new generations for Easy Goer, Sunday Silence and Deep Impact. The influence of Easy Goer and Sunday Silence on the breeding of racehorses worldwide is incredible. Even with dying very premature, Easy Goer is in the bloodlines of a numerous amount of G-1 winners in the USA and Europe. Easy Goer's grandson Araafa won the Group 1 St. James's Palace Stakes, G-1 Irish 2,000 Guineas, et cetera. Easy Goer's grandson Astronomer Royal won the Group 1 French 2,000 Guineas, et cetera. Easy Goer's son Will's Way won the Grade 1 Whitney Handicap, G-1 Travers Stakes, et cetera. Easy Goer's lookalike daughter My Flag won the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, G-1 Coaching Club American Oaks, G-1 Ashland, G-1 Gazelle, G-1 Bonnie Miss, et cetera. Easy Goer's lookalike grandson Corinthian won the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, G-1 Met Mile, G-1 Gulfstream Park Handicap, et cetera. Easy Goer's granddaughter Storm Flag Flying won the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, G-1 Personal Ensign, G-1 Frizette, G-1 Matron, G-1 Shuvee, et cetera. Easy Goer's lookalike grandson Bulletin won the G-1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, et cetera. Easy Goer's grandson London Bridge won the G-1 Breeders' Cup Marathon, et cetera. Easy Goer's lookalike grandson Lion Tamer won the G-1 Cigar Mile, et cetera. Easy Goer's lookalike granddaughter Magical Fantasy won the G-1 Yellow Ribbon, G-1 Gamely, G-1 Ramona {Mabee}, G-1 Del Mar Oaks, G-1 Santa Barbara, et cetera. Easy Goer's grandson Audible won the G-1 Florida Derby, G-1 Holy Bull, et cetera. Easy Goer's lookalike granddaughter Funny Moon won the G-1 Coaching Club American Oaks, G-1 Shuvee, et cetera. Easy Goer's grandson Monba won the G-1 Blue Grass, et cetera. Easy Goer's lookalike grandson Dynamic One won the G-1 Suburban, et cetera. Easy Goer's daughter Furlough won the G-1 Ballerina, G-1 Distaff, G-1 Honorable Miss, et cetera. Easy Goer's son Composer won the G-1 Jim Dandy, et cetera. Easy Goer's lookalike daughter Relaxing Rhythm won the G-1 Molly Pitcher, et cetera. Easy Goer's lookalike granddaughter Tiz Miz Sue won the G-1 Ogden Phipps, et cetera. And many more. Great Genetics have definitely moved on to new generations for Easy Goer, Sunday Silence and Deep Impact. However, none of these compare to Galileo, Danehill, Sadler's Wells, Northern Dancer, Mr. Prospector, Danzig, Native Dancer, Bold Ruler, Man o' War and some others. Dubawi, Tapit, Curlin, Sea the Stars and Frankel may be on their way to these aforementioned sires above. The great Japanese sires Sunday Silence and Deep Impact both took over from Northern Taste and Tesco Boy as leading sire in the insular, restricted, big fish in small pond Japan. While a few Deep Impact's have had success with G-1 wins in Europe, et cetera, it must be noted that he was bred to the best of the best Coolmore Galileo, Sadler's Wells and Giant's Causeway mares to do so in most cases - and in the other cases he was bred to the best of the best Niarchos family mares who are descendants of the great Miesque. Actually, Sunday Silence himself did not even sire one G-1 winner in all of Europe and the U.S.A., and many attempted to, including Dance Partner, Dance in the Mood, Sundrop, Layman, Keep the Faith, Silent Name, Deep Impact {disqualified from 3rd place finish due to a positive drug test for an illegal drug}, To the Victory, Zenno Rob Roy, Heart's Cry, Sunday Joy, Seven Moons, Negotiator, Wild Sunday and others - All of these sons and daughters of Sunday Silence lost all of their G-1 races in Europe and the U.S.A. The many attempts that have been made to generate Sunday Silence's sire-line outside Japan have had very little to very modest success - sons of Sunday Silence that have stood at stud outside Japan in Europe, Australia and the U.S.A. have had very little to very modest success, including Divine Light, Born King, Keep the Faith, Layman, Tayasu Tsuyoshi, Real Impact, Bubble Gum Fellow, Genuine, Hat Trick, Silent Name, Fuji Kiseki, Fusaichi Zenon, Agnes Gold, Victoire Pisa, Neorealism, Brave Smash, Black Tuxedo, et cetera. Japan's great successes cannot be attributed only because Sunday Silence and Deep Impact. While SS's blood is oversaturated in Japan, some horses without any SS blood have also been leading sires in Japan, including the aforementioned Northern Taste and Tesco Boy, as well as King Kamehameha, Symboli Kris S, Kurofune, Rulership, Harbinger, Sakura Bakushin O, Brian's Time and Lord Kanaloa. Many horses without any SS blood at all have been greats in Japan and worldwide, including all of these G-1 winners: Panthalassa {G-1 Saudi Cup & G-1 Dubai Turf winner}, El Condor Pasa {G-1 winner in Europe}, Taiki Shuttle {G-1 winner in Europe}, Seeking the Pearl {G-1 winner in Europe}, Lord Kanaloa, Vodka, TM Opera O, Jungle Pocket, King Kamehameha, Apapane, Narita Brian, Symboli Kris S, Meisho Samson, Rey de Oro, Agnes Digital, Mayano Top Gun, Air Groove, Grass Wonder, Tap Dance City, Sweep Tosho, Satono Crown, etc etc.
@@johnhoie1 No. Stavros Niarchos owned the great mare Miesque. His daughter and family race under the name "Flaxman", and most of their top horses descend from the great Miesque.
I loved the vastness of this tome......should God one day grant me the time, I do intend to read it. My goodness as the Brits would say, "you do go on a bit".
Richard Hoiles is simply the best caller there is. The Aussies are good and Matt Hill is right up there too but this guy is just fantastic. England is lucky to have him
Aidan was very effusive in his comments about this horse, plus as usual he tried mentioning the whole team, from the beginning of the breeding right through to the running in the derby
Is it just my imagination or does he look like his grand sire Sunday Silence? Something about that pattern of his white facial strip and dark coloration ...
@@bgturf lol yes. I actually Google Sunday Silence after my post and I saw the almost identical while facial marking.. Is it called a blaise? The white face markings on horses ?
Absolutely brilliant race followed King of Steel as a 2yr old huge Horse knew he had a chance great run, Auguste Rodin to beat King of Steel runnin’ at peak form shows how brilliant Auguste Rodin’s run was absolutely brilliant runs by both Horses and great race🔥
The Irish horse whisperer strikes again! I'm pretty certain the G1 Irish Derby at the Curragh will be his likely next start, but this is a colt that could really do some damage as the season progresses against the top older horses with the weight for age break he'd receive for being a 3YO in races like the King George, Juddmonte International, Irish Champion Stakes, the Arc de Triomphe, or the Champion Stakes at Ascot.
August’s Rodin had to be every bit as good as Aidan said he was, because King of Steel ran the race of his life & they pulled well clear of the rest. Superb training performance from the absolute Master O’Brien & top ride from Ryan Moore.
Quite obvious now, the winner is class at middle distance. If the Guineas run had not been so deplorable he would prob have been a very short FAV. Well done everyone who held the faith.
@@paulrichards6894 still held in very high regard by AOB before the Derby and that can mean a lot. I went with White Birch EW but if I hadn’t at the prices I was tempted at a mug bet on him tbh in the hope his Guineas form you put a line through. Watch out for the 2nd mind that was a phenomenal run, he is a huge horse and should only get better.
Now that's a matter of conjecture, largely depending upon how you would define "greatest". Compared to the Kentucky Derby for example the purse for the Epsom Derby winner is only 892,160 pounds ($1,115,200) versus $1,900,000 for the winner at Kentucky. Winning the Kentucky Derby is a huge prestigious achievement within the sport, defining the careers for both the jockey and the owners. Usually the winner at Kentucky will go on to achieve even greater glory internationally. While the Epsom Derby winner might be an exceptional achievement at home in England, it's still more of a domestic event, since we seldom if ever hear of the outcome. Try not to become so eagerly carried away about a relatively small annual horse race that has little meaning to the world outside. Based upon this I know you'll disagree, but the Kentucky Derby in the whole of horseracing (since it attracts the world most elite horses and jockeys) is recognized as the greatest racing event on earth surpassing all others.
@@KryptonitetoallBS American bloodstock has always been the proven standard for racing excellence worldwide. Based upon actual winning legacy and achievement, there are only a few champion horses that stand out as international history makers. These include in descending order: Kelso Black Caviar.....Australia. Zenyatta Dr. Fager Citation Secretariat Man O'War. I know its difficult, since in all probability you live in the United Kingdom, but please try to understand that not everything British is now best. Perhaps once long ago that credo had merit, during those halcyon days when you folks actually produced something of unique value, while making a positive contribution to a world craving new innovative engineering technology. Unfortunately Britain's rapid modern day inept decline to an almost level of "Banana Republic", is also reflected in its ability to produce competitive racing bloodstock. So forgive us if we choose to ignore overt ridiculous British patriotic shoutouts such as "greatest this" and "greatest that".....the Epsom Derby simply is not!!
@@KryptonitetoallBSPlease, I implore you, you must for the sake of England and St George try to expand that tiny mind of yours; there is a great big wonderful world out there free of the trappings of archaic British lunacy. A vibrant world where entrepreneurial success rewards those prepared to leave the dark ages. You must somehow rearrange that three pound lump of useless fatty tissue that's suspended between your ears and THINK. Only this will limit these mindless periodic outbursts of yours that propel you to shriek such utter nonsensical claptrap about the Epsom Derby. But then you're British and the world expects nothing else.
I'm a bit concerned that this year's Derby shall turn out to be insufficient , as far as true quality goes ! I know we cant have a 'Dancing Brave ' superstar every year , but I'm not too overwhelmed by this years crop . I always say that the Irish Derby gives us more information about the true class and form of the 3 year old colts ,as by that race the form is more instructional and precise .
he has been remanded in custody......will get to find out what it's like to be ridden in the next six months.....but it won't be an 8 stone jockey but a burly drug dealer from somewhere like Manchester
@@michaeljay3846 but to say he deliberately did it is insane....i suspect he was gutted after the 2000q...these horses are about stud value.....2,000q is not a 0-50 handicap
