Even when I was a kid it was always weird to me how Twilight was just able to walk into a random high school without enrolling or anything and nobody cared

Anyone else notice, how Sunset's magic is blue in the Equestria girls movie,but in the special episode where she come through the portal to talk to twilight or something, when she uses her magic it's red?

Also not sure if someone mentioned this, but it's implied that twilight is an adult. The equestria girls and students are high schoolers. Twilight essentially fell for a teenage boy in the human universe😭. This is exactly why they should've set it in a combined high school and college so that way they could still have the crusaders in the same building, and the main characters don't have to be teenagers.

I have a gripe on your gripe. Spike is a baby dragon...its actually less weird for him to have a crush on young rarity than for him to have a crush on our adult Rarity lol.

I have a theory about the Equestria Girls world. The events were supposed to be a mirror image of My Little Pony, with Twilight transferring to Equestria High as a honor student or something. However, due to Sunset Shimmer infiltrating the human world, the timeline got messed up. This is why Twilight doesn't appear until the last few movies. Of course, not everyone has to agree with my theory.

Nothing says 'brief' than an hour long video

When I think back to the main series, ponies don't always stick with ponified terms like mare and filly. They ocasionally called each other girls or ladies. That kinda makes Equestria 'Girls' ambiguous'. It didn't even need to be humans and still keep the title. "Oh 'girls', can't you see? When I was a little filly and the sun was going down" "You 'girls' are the apple of my eye" "He will treat me like a 'lady', tonight at the gala"

Personally, I adore equestria girls. I cant pinpoint exactly why, it looks like smthing I'd hate but watching all the shorts just kept me laughing forever and the movies are some of my favourite movies of all time ( they don't have much competition ). The music's also insane at times. In fact for the last few days, my head has been nothing but shake your tail. Equestria girls has a whole host of issues and if people don't like or or don't consider it canon, that's fair and they're opinion, but I'll continue enjoying it Also sunset shimmer appears in the background of the final episode of FIM while twilight is singing, pretty sure that suggests canonicity

I honestly wouldn't mind at all if you made more hour-long videos in the future, this was really entertaining and nostalgic lol. I watched the EG movies when I was too young to question all the stupidity so watching this had me laughing so hard!

On a side note, Season 3 was special as it marked the "end" of the original conception of the show with Twilight fullfilling destiny. You could quite literally follow it up with the last problem and nothing major would change (To be more specific, the show probably would have been around 5 seasons with all of the characters fullfiling their destiny in a more fleshed out way, but creative differences with Lauren Faust meant that she was not able to do that, and so the left over team had to rush her vision out the door to make way for the "new normal" of pony.). On a corporate level, S4-9 and EQG were the "post 65 episode intital broadcast package" run of the show, and was quite literally designed to be ran into the ground at that point. It was completely divorced from the original conception of the show, and only made strides to develope the characters and lore out of obligation to the type of cartoon it was designed to be originally. They would have cancelled it much sooner if the money train had dried up. We are godamn lucky with how much we got. Any time you here Lauren, or another creator complement these continuations, its basically "I would NEVER have done that, and feel sick having to see it, but I have solidarity with my fellow creatives and am not going to trash talk what they had to make. Also I have a gag order and legally cannot talk trash about it."

School librarians can be teachers too. In my country they are usually teaching basic stuff about libraries, and talk about the history of books like Gutenberg. But they also can teach other stuff (people can have multiple degrees/jobs) but the latter is not a requirement. One of the school librarians I knew was also the music and Art teacher.

I went on a Equestria Girls binge with my little sister a few days ago, so the both of us can relive our pony phase. We both LOVE it so much no matter the lore jank. Sunset has been my obsession for the past few days, she's literally the best. I friggin love my anger issues girlie. My favorite movie from the whole thing is Rainbow Rocks. It's one of the best 😩

I enjoyed this video a lot! Equestria Girls is one of those things where picking apart it's plot holes is so much fun, because it's so silly in a charming way. And I always love hearing about the differences between movies and junior novelisations

Theory for the age problem: So basically Canterlot high is a junior and senior high school combined, grades 7-12 (this is common in parts of Canada), snips and snails are in grade 8 during the movie and were in grade 7 last year so they could still be around to help sunset, but you might be thinking what about Cloudsdale junior high well I’m thinking maybe RD and Fluttershy used to live in Cloudsdale when they were in junior high but they moved to Canterlot kind of like in the pony world they moved to ponyville This still doesn’t answer why any of them are in high school when their pony equivalents are young adults though…

On the topic of those animated shorts that take place during the first movie but were released years after, everything is a bit off because they were animated by Boulder Media instead of DHX Vancouver like nearly everything else G4-related. Boulder went on to do the Rainbow Roadtrip special, the Pony Life series and the A New Generation film as well. I'm sure they were using the same puppets and tools as DHX were for the shorts, but their process being different is going to be noticeable in the end product I imagine. Or maybe they did use a different animation program. I'm not too sure; the lighting is noticeably different in their shorts, though. Edit: Also, I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic or not, but the joke at 54:30 actually does work pretty well since saying "it was nothing" is a common response to being thanked. The joke being it has two meanings in that instance. It's not really explaining the joke, it's expanding on it. Apologies if you already knew that and your joke was just going over my head or something.

for the bell scene where it’s speculated that classes are a little over 2 mins, they probably have a something like this: when the first bell rings it’s the warning bell, warning students to get to class. when the second bells rings, that’s the tardy bell. the bells system is something my school has so that’s probably something their school has too.

As an American high schooler, I can *(probably)* comment on your high school assumptions. 1) While lots of kids can be clique-y, we don't really sit in super confined spots. We roam around the school or sit with groups of friends. (Hell, I haven't sat in an actual cafeteria since 5th grade.) 2) Many people, myself included, do not spend lunch in one spot. It's not uncommon for people to wander to the library or gym. 3) Classes are about 2 hours while lunch is 40 minutes. 4) Librarians may be able to substitute, but I don't know that any in my particular school/city do. 5) Our library is open as long as staff is there I'm pretty sure, I know that it's open for hours after school ends and maybe a little later than when clubs or activities end. Though, I doubt it's open until the night... 6) There are morning periods before school starts as well as a short break early in the day, Rainbow Dash could have very well been playing soccer during one of those times. 7) You're right about the whole prom being on Saturday thing! Our homecoming dance and winter formal were on Saturdays as well, and Seniors who went in Junior year know that prom is on a Saturday. 8) Schools are open until 4:30-ish for parents and students to enter, and schools usually end at 3:30. In this time, there are clubs, activities, and the library is open. 9) There is supposed to be a fall formal prince if there is a princess... but I don't think there's a fall formal prince *or* princess at all. At least, not here. Homecoming and prom have kings and queens, and HOCO has a prince and princess as well. 10) Students help set up events and make decorations a lot of the time, so that fake crown could be something some students made. 11) Students may bring either students from other schools, students from their own shool, or somebody who isn't even in school as a "date" to HOCO or prom. Twilight may have been nominated by students that way, and simply had one of her friends take her as a "date." Overall, the only truly abnormal thing I see in this high school is that we never see them in class. /)!bro hoof!(\

Schools can be very different in other countries, like high school, middle school, and elementary school are all in the same building, yearbooks aren't a thing, teachers have jobs in many places at a time, etc. So it's not like it's that crucial that EqG got some stuff that way. That is weird however if EqG world is a replica of someplace in the US and is supposed to be that way, but we don't know for sure.

I don't know if anyone else commented about this but I believe Cloudsdale Junior High is named after a town called Cloudsdale. I know in my town we have a university, high school, and a middle school named after the town 😅

what I wanna know is would things have worked better if they were in a community college or some kind of college rather than high school? If it was a college it could be one that also has high schoolers or those classes for college credit in order to get through faster and than have better chances of success etc. Anyway that would nearly eliminate the school dances but I feel like timelines and the various things could have been better.

I know that nothing about this movie makes sense, but what still bugs me the most is Sunset's evil plan. Like. She barely controls that magic and expects to take over Equestria??? There are FOUR powerful and experienced princesses (counting with Twilight, the owner of the crown) that can easily beat her and her silly zombie arm, and even if she could defeat the princesses, she had no clue who Discord was and that he was now by the Mane Six's side, he could turn Sunset into a burned chicken with a single snap of fingers. Like. It really doesn't make sense for someone who was supposed to be a smart manipulator. (This is why I always prefered Sunset Shimmer as a hero rather than a villain)

The ages are hard to pindown in EQG, the Mane 6 work well enough being teenagers so off the top of my head some weird ones would be Celestia/Luna - Obviously their human forms have not lived for a thousand years Babs seed - in the comic as you touched upon, very odd choice aging her up Cheerilee - is she mane-6 aged in FIM? maybe but in EQG she's put among Cranky doodle/Harshwhinny as "older teacher" type characters Photo Finish - No way is she a teenager as a pony she's clearly a grown mare/woman with a career right?? but in EQG is a student Diamond Dogs - I like how they're included in EQG but it is weird, how old would anyone guess they are in FIM as dogs? Bulk Biceps - This guy is clearly a full grown pegasus stallion possibly on steriods in FIM, no way should he be a student and even dating Derpy in some shorts Zecora - This may not count as she only appears in Doll form but if it does then surely she's not the same age as the mane6?

rarity at the end of that short saying “it was nothing” wasn’t meant to be the writers trying to explain the joke in a clunky way, “it was nothing” is just another way to say “no problem”, and its also part of the joke, literally meaning that the end result applejack was happy with took no effort on raritys part.

I think Twilight's Canterlot friends were just taller ponies. Or they were actually older than Twilight, but it's not visible in their adult design because every pony between the age of 20 and 60 have the same body shape. Twilight's mom also has the same body shape as Twilight

Love the ending I got into the later movies pretty late but it was there when I needed it in my lowest days.

I mean, the whole thing with Twilight going from filly to full grown mare in 3 years could add up, since again, the CMC are in highschool (and presumably freshmen) and are considered fillies in the pony world. The mane 5 also had the same body types as the CMC in their freshman year, which could be 2-3 years ago, if they’re seniors or at least juniors because of the last day of school short. Also who knows if Pinkie and Fluttershy are in the same grade in EG. Assuming they age like the ponies, Fluttershy should be a year above Pinkie since, “I’m a year older than you”

It was the first in a series, and boy does it feel like the first.

The way I can explain the makeup segment with Rarity and Apple Jack is that not every type of makeup look is going to suit your face and people have different preferences, some may make you look like a drag queen while some are intended to make you look like you have no makeup on so it does make sense to me kinda, maybe rarity was doing those 2016 Instagram model looks when Apple Jack wanted no makeup makeup lol

Equestria Girls was my introduction to MLP and the absolute brain rotting yummy treat to me as a little girl growing up in the 2010's. I still prefer it over the original show to be honest even with all its wrongs!

In retrospect, Equestria Girls definitely has a few problems,it doesn't make any sense,and if Monster High wasn't well liked, Equestria Girls probably wouldn't exist at all,since however much i love it,at the end of the day, its just a cash grab. However,i still adore it despite its flaws. In certain aspects, Equestria Girls is much better than Friendship Is Magic,like in terms of music,or redemption arcs ( just conpare Sunset Shimmer's redemption arc to Starlight Glimmer's and you will see what I'm talking about). I'm really fond of the characters, the stories are pretty fun,even though they're pretty.... Mediocre compared to FIM,and the Dazzlings' transformation sequence has been ingrained into my head. It's incredibly revolting that Equestria Girls didn't get a finale. I thought it would have something for it's 10th anniversary,but no. Absolutely exasperating.

I feel that the human world and equestria MUST operate on different flows of time even beyond the evidence from the comics in the show its self the mane 6 are clearly not teenagers in equestria they don't live with their parents they have jobs, government obligations, they dont go to school etc with everything we know it just makes the most sense that time moves slower in the human world

As a 18 year old I really fell in love with MLP: Equestria Girls I just got around to watching and I'm hook, it has life lessons and the beauty of friendship and I love The character dynamic between each character my favorite Ponies are Twilight, Rarity, and Sunset Shimmer because I see a lot of me inside them and I can relate to them on a personal basis that's why I love Equestria Girls it reminded me of my highschool years I love it all they need to make a live action movie of this FR FR

In defense of Twilight being self-conscious about wearing her crown at the start of the film, her acting that way maintains continuity with Princess Twilight Sparkle - Part 1 and Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell.

"It was nothing" isn't really "explaining the joke," it's a play on words since it has two completely different meanings that are simultaneously correct. Besides, without that it could also be interpreted as simply having light makeup that can't be easily noticed (which realistically should have been her approach, anyway).

Plus, the film debuted the same year as Doki Doki PreCure. You could say they're in the same grade.

Just a shot in the Dark but my theory would be that he Crystal Mirror was made by the same Pony/Creature that created the Crystal Heart. First hint its kinda in the name both sharing the word 'Crystal'. Second the mirror has several crystals/gemstones around the frame of the glass suggesting that they could be the mirrors power source. I think it came was made in the Crystal empire in the days long before Sombra's original invasion and control of the Empire. Then when Luna and Celestia defeated Sombra and the Empire disappeared, its possible that the Mirror was amongst some objects that could have been raided and taken back to Canterlot. When it was given to Cadence it essentially was being returned home.
