I’m in the US.... not much is different except that I think most of us allow their horses out for longer periods of time. For instance, we might have an afternoon training rotation and a morning rotation. The horses ridden in the morning go out in the afternoon and the afternoon workers go out after breakfast. It saves so much time taking fly rugs on and off. Great video!
I love when you show us riding, but seeing what everyone else was up too, and seeing what was all going on was great, I love that people chipped in to help you film!
Really enjoyed this Olivia it’s so interesting and cool to see behind the scenes at a top yard 💕 btw your horses are absolutely stunning all their coats are on fleek 😍
Great video. That was so interesting to see how you run the yard. It’s been nearly 20 years since I was a groom and I remember how non stop the job is, but I loved it. You run a super organised ship. Thank you for sharing 💕💕
Hi Olivia that was a nice vlog you have a good routine there very tidy friendly and relaxed atmosphere al the horses look really well and mischief is growing fast, thanks for sharing 😎❤️😎
Love the vlog -- we have a bit of a switch up for the early spring/summer. Once the snow is gone, we wait till the grass has grown a bit due to the amount of sugars that the grass may have (we try to eliminate the chances of lamitis :) that's usually about 2 weeks wait. Then we time out the grass starting about 20min to start working up to about 2hrs -this usually takes about a month and a bit ( starting usually march through to beginning May) Once they are over the 4hr mark we then have full day turn out all summer and fall. This does vary where you live in Canada and where in the province you live as well :) Love all the photo's esp the one of your fur baby -- teared a bit ..Have a great week look forward to the next one
Thank you for giving us some very interesting content while we are all stuck at home! Many barns here in the US are closed until further notice, mine having us on a schedule of when we can go see our horses. That being said, I’m living vicariously through your videos when I can’t get out there to see my horse!
Quite random- but I love how when you were showing the girl blowing the yard.. you explained that she was another girl who worked with you, rather than saying a girl who works for you. A very subtle word change but it just proves you are such a genuine person :)
I never understood why your mum was never excited about the horses and stuff but when I got my horse my mum is literally the same well except for the sassy comments :) P.S. love you and your mum and the vlogs ))))
It seems mad they only go out for two hours, is there a reason behind this at all and would you ever talk more about your reasons why they have such restricted turnout? Loving the vlogs
Rosie she did say they have limited turnout space so they have to rotate horses and also Paris doesn’t like others near the foal so that’s even less area. She did say the ones who don’t act stupid get to go out over night 😊👍🏻 YAY turnout!
busy busy busy, the time you guys spend on turning horses out / in and prepping them with rugs/boots ect makes me a little dizzy when ypu mention the short amount of time they stay out?! wow thats a lot of work I'm glad ive never had to do even when I run a thoroughbreed stable, the minimum amout of time any of the horses stayed out what 4 hours and that was only the ones who was in rehab of an injury. anyhow, lovely to see how well oiled your machinery off every one :D and no doubt the horses are well taken care of, really liked how much effort and thought you put into actually grooming and spending time with the horses! that i think many other stables like this should use more effort on.
I'm surprised you don't use an Equissage. They are awesome. Also what's the difference between hay and hayledge ?? (Not sure how to spell). Asking from Australia.
Lovely video. It’s a shame you don’t have a bit more turn out especially for the mare and foal. So much time is involved in the turn out regime, especially with all the boots, rugs and fly masks. What happened to your dads dog?
Thanx for a most enjoyable vlog Olivia. Dont want to rain on your parade but that diet coke contains artificial man made chemical sweetener and it is very bad for you Actually screws w/ your metabolism & ironically facilitates wt gain more than sugar does. Tho of course sugar is horrible too. But at 18 cals per teaspoon is less fattening than you would think. It's the stuff it's usually added to that packs on the lbs. Anyhoot look up the fake sweetners on line. Scary stuff esp for the eyes. Best to you🙂
Totally agree with Deb, don't put it in your healthy body!! Do you have Zevia brand over there..sodas with stevia..zero cal and healthy. I live in US now and miss my England, so I love to see your lovely barn and surrounding countryside.
