Back in 2016, Rihanna released Anti, which is still her most recent album to date. The album went through some changes in its early stages, first being executive produced by Kanye West. While he was producing the album, Rihanna put out the singles FourFiveSeconds, BBHMM, and American Oxygen, none of which made the album. Rihanna, who wanted to make more timeless music, went for a more alternative R&B sound with Anti. The album's biggest hit, Work, which features Drake, was a Dancehall smash, and a not to her Caribbean roots. The album included other hits like Love on The Brain, Needed Me, and Kiss It Better. Rihanna collaborated with writers and producers including Travis Scott, the Weeknd, Bibi Bourelly, Teddy Sinclair, and Glass John. With this album, it seems Rihanna achieved her goal of making a timeless classic.

i must say, the release of Anti was very messy! the album leaked and people ridiculed Rihanna for selling only 460 copies, people said she had no hit on it. But one thing about Rihanna, she let’s her work speak for itself cause 7 years later, Anti remains the first album by a black female artist to spend 7 years on billboard.. in my opinion i think Anti aged the best out of every album released in 2016.

She really gave it her all with this project and I feel like there will be higher expectations on her next album if she ever decides to release one. I remember when this album came out and I was just playing it over and over and over. Then I checked my email and Tidal sent me an email saying I won tickets to her concert. I thought I had trash seats at the top. Then some lady tells us you're in our seats. So then one of the people working there came to us and said oh no your seats are down there. We were closer to the stage. It was the best day of my life.

My favorite album from her is Rated R, and I feel like people don't talk enough about this album and that it's kinda forgotten. It's her best lyrical album along with ANTI, and the whole concept and production is wild, experimental, and in that time it was very risky for her career. My favorites from there are Russian Roulette, Stupid in Love and Hard.

Honestly her best album and went against the structure of her previous albums. This album was completely anti chasing charts and anti pop star. It proved that she is a real artist and not just a manufactured pop star. It’s a shame it didn’t win a Grammy and didn’t sell as well as her other albums at the time. It actually only sold 1000 pure sales. And she had a promotion deal with Samsung to buy 1 million copies. Which would not be allowed today. I believe the leak was planned to build momentum because she also tried to include the leaked downloads as sales but billboard refused. It ended up the longest charting album on billboard 200 charting for 355 weeks. Which proved it to be a timeless album. I would love another album from her but okay if she never made another one.

I love how different this album felt . The majority of the album had such a gritty, industrial feel but it also had songs that were light and passionate and packed a lot of depth. Amazing album and such a fitting title.

i was in 6th grade when this album came out and even as a middle schooler i knew that this album was different. it sounded way more mature than all of her projects prior to ANTI. of course work was overplayed but you needed to get up and dance to it everytime it came on. this album also contained my love for sza because i’ve been listening to her since her “Z” EP. i’ve always had a fondness with this album and even though i joke about doing every thing in my power to convince rihanna to release another album, i would not be mad if she truly decides that this is her final curtain call. ANTI truly is her magnum opus

I agrée Anti is a great album to check out with but i feel like to truly put a ribbon and close the gift of what is her discography is for her to release her reggae infused album. It would truly wrap up her , her journey, her heritage. She went from barbados to primarily being in america then back to spending a large amount of her time in barbados with her Bajan lover and child and I feel like we’d truly get to see and understand her and her connection to the Caribbean islands. It would be so special. It would be a staple for the diaspora I think. A perfect representation of you can never truly lose your heritage it always shines thru.

Buuuuut AnTI just speaks to my soooul especially since I am alternative black girl , I looooved the edginess of this album was had alot of genre that I can really appreciate. Everyone needs to research the man the myth, the legend James Fauntleroy He is the reason why James joint exists however, a lot of his work exists on the fringes of the Internet and deep in SoundCloud the Aunty area was Rihanna’s most experimental era and is why we as a fanbase have wanted more music from her because it felt like she was just scratching the surface of where her sound was headed the Aunty area marked a change in almost a cultural reset, which we wouldn’t see you again until lemonade, A seat at the table, and Ctrl. We started to see a shift in music as a whole towards more experimental alternative and I want guard sounds Rihanna created a soundscape for us to navigate that still is riveting to listen to almost 10 years later I remember listening to this album on repeat my senior year of high school and seeing how it still is a classic to really turn to and I love that people are now turning back to recognize this piece of work.

Anti is definitely one of Rihanna's best albums truly because you can listen to it straight through. I personally think some of her best songs come from talk that and unapologetic as a true fan. I attended the tour and had so much fun I think the anti tour version of birthday cake is amazing, also the we found love/ how deep is your love is sooo good. She made her old songs even better so so would enjoy performing them. Kiss it better I think will age as one of Rihanna's best songs. imo this is the best rihanna album. i love her experimentation. Same ol Mistakes is probably my fave rihanna song, one of my favorite songs ever. i love the original by tame impala as well.

My favorite albums always switch, but I would say it’s usually rated R.. people forget about unapologetic, which I feel is the sequel to rated R loved that album.. but anti is a beautiful masterpiece… anti is an album that transformed her and made her who she is today. I usually switch between these 3 albums.

It’s a great end for her if this is her last album, however I think she even can do better! So I’m sad if we won’t experience her putting out more albums the way she produced ANTi.

I was also thinking rihanna owns all of her Masters after releasing Unapologetic. Her not being nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys seem like a haha moment from the industry, since labels benefit from that big boost from an artist after they win big at the Grammys. Something to think about.

That song she did with Travis scott 🥰😍 in 2016 that still has me in a chokehold that album was the soundtrack to my life plus I went through a breakup during the album release and when her song with drake come out it was played in all the clubs here circa 2017
