I was gutted when New Zealand were knocked out of the World Cup, but after having seen what South Africa have done and having seeing what it means to the people of South Africa, I am very happy with the way things worked out.
Mad respect to Kiwis too. Never make excuses for not winning every WC, just dogged determination to win every single game. That's crazy. Soweto in SA has a bigger population than NZ ( let that sink in) and these guys set the standard for the rest of us to play catch up. Glad we had Eng amd not ABs in the final
As a South African living in New Zealand I have been humbled by the response of the Kiwis around us. Very kind and gracious. For the Boks to win the World Cup meant a great deal to us and even mores so because there were amazing teams like the All Blacks and England (and others) going after the trophy too.
Respect is earned. There is a reason we look up to the Abs. We wil enjoy winning the cup and moving into 1st place, but you are stil the best team in the world👍🏻
@@adriaanvanniekerk6641 thanks for kind words, SA in the final looked like the SA of old, set peices were outstanding great balance of power and running rugby!!
@@adriaanvanniekerk6641 As a fellow South African thank you. I keep telling people NZ is still the best team in the world. We need to be consistent. I look forward to international rugby after the whole lockdown situation.
I find it awesome and hilarious that us south Africans are each others biggest rivals and both legends in their own right and we play hard against each other in the game but we respect each other the most. Can't say the same for England tho. Bunch of disrespectful asses. Sorry for the crassness. Much live from south Africa. 💚💛🖤
As an All Black fan I never knew much about Rassie Erasmus or Siya Kolisi beyond the rugby pitch. But with this RWC I have gained so much respect for both the captain and this coach. He’s so humble in victory and just as gracious in defeat. He might be leaving his head coach role but my takeaway from this World Cup (other than Japan) is this team led by this man. I can’t even be mad that we got knocked out the RWC. South Africa wanted it more and seeing how much it means to their nation, deserve it more. Much respects to Rassie and co. Looking forward to wrestling with you over world no. 1 and 2 spots over the next 12 years!
Henry Gerber from a kiwi yes you should all be proud of Rassie and his team. What an example of gracious humility he showed and he showed up certain other coaches and players who displayed poor behaviours in this tournament. He is proof that nice guys can finish first! Even though my team finished 3rd, I was still happy because this Springbok team winning the cup made meant so much to them and their country for altruistic reasons. Champions in every sense of the word they are!
Credit to Rassie, he masterminded an excellent game-plan that led to a deserved victory. No complaints from this England supporter as the better team won.....
@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023to be fair, I have not seen many bitter comments from English fans. Perhaps it is the comprehensive manner in which the Boks won that makes everyone realize THE BETTER TEAM WON anyway.
@@len2son That's fair. Ur right. Personally I found way too many butter English fans but that may be the algorithm in video recommendations lol. People are way too bitchy these days.
Thanks coach Rassie Erasmus...humble as always...to the very end....you're so right about NZ....there's work to be done....greatness awaits. Best wishes
Nothing, but nothing in World sport, let alone rugby, makes me more anxious, excited, proud and expectant than a Springbok v All Blacks game...it's the ultimate challenge of our mutual passion for rugby....it's more than just a game....it is a claim to nationhood and tradition....our "manne" against your mana...(same pronunciation)....one missed tackle or a momentary misjudgement could cost the game....even at ten points up with ten minutes to go makes me even more nervous as a predictable final assault on the scoreboard is unleashed! As World Champions, we must keep our standards up! 🇿🇦🏆
U need to start saying things like "may bru" (spelling not correct on purpose), "yah", "eish", and like rassie did here "I promise u" while rolling the r.
@@hlempheabielsemelane3358 just joking. The fact is,he's a deep gentleman and great strategist. Very inspiring. And always humble. I respect very people,he is one of them. Great coach,no chip on the shoulder.
next to the president of South Africa is Rassie Erasmus, a highly esteemed man for his beautiful tactics in bringing our rugby team to this level in a very short space of time and not to forget his enormous contribution for uniting our broken nation together yet once again, this is A new Dawn for South Africa as president Cyril Ramaphosa said it!🇿🇦 .......✊
Erasmus makes me wonder how people like peter de villiers and allister coetzee had the top job.. it makes me laugh i'm so glad SA has a great coach now, awesome stuff - respect from NZ!
What bout the last coach before Rassie over n remember peter d lost in a quarter final bcoz of ref who favoured ausie didnt us to face NZ in semis the same PD beat NZ in NZ after decade of losing there, Peter was better than bot Coetze n n meyer
@@mosetsanahlahatsi2315 I can't disagree with your comments but my own understanding is that he had the best team of players that has ever been seen on this earth. And they were pretty much coaching themselves.
Yes ALL BLACKS set the bar for the WORLD which opens the door to other nations to follow....its true...well done South Africa well deserved win and coach of the year...respect from NZ
you know i respect this man for admitting they arnt the greatest but they are going to work hard to be "consistent" like the all blacks which makes them the greatest team in the world. the key word here is "consistent" which england where not thinking about, they were only thinking of beating the all blacks and forgetting there are other teams in the world. well done
@@HenryDube72 I'm from England but I'm an all blacks supporter. Look at their stats but also how they reacted in the final when they lost in the world cup! Pure respect for the sort and the opposition unlike the spoilt arrogant children in the England team.
U are one of the two actually nice England fans I've found in the comments and it's really refreshing no offense. Much love and respect from South Africa.
Sweetest award is the one that comes from peers, and adversaries. And certainly this fits the bill pretty much. Congrats to you and to your team again.
I hope he does really🙏🏾🤞🏽. Normally such profound unique people never stay...I’m only glad I was alive to witness such brilliance and humility from this gentleman and the captain of the Boks
Springboks and the allblacks are absolutely dominating world rugby, the springboks win in 07 then the allblacks take back to back world cups, then the springboks take it back again hahahaha We don't know how blessed we are to see these 2 teams playing twice a year
Innovator, Game-changer and firm believer that the boks are 'STRONGER TOGETHER'...you never hear quota-players label on the black players in the team since he started coaching because Rassie picked them based on form and potential and not colour of skin (just to make the number) and so the black players felt they belonged and performed to the best of their abilities!.....Never bothered with trash talks in build-up to games, always praising the opposition regardless of game outcome, always respectful during interviews....and here, not prideful to admit that they want to be as consistent as the ABs, a very humble coach!....As a kid, had watched him on TV playing for the boks when he was still in his prime, so glad to see him now still in his prime but as a world-cup winning coach on his first attempt!!
So so so Special! Thank you so much Rassie. You and the entire squad, management and all , are such a blessing. You’ve given us the most wonderful gift 🙏💪❤️💥🔥🌈🏅this will go down as one of the greatest moments in South African history
As a South African : Rassie is a example of what it will take as a Human Beings in South Africa to make a change, we have so many sad and depressing news every day, from farm murders, corruption and all the nonspeaking evils rather not to mention. Our Country is hanging on the brink of collapse, if this will change the course of our history to the better is yet to see, I hope it will.
we are thankfull 2 the allblablacks 4 beating us and na eventually for being beatin by the English, thats destinywith a alot of hard work from the Boks .
James Ramone you're welcome anytime, lol. But my ABs I believe are heading in to an uncertain next 2-3 seasons which I fear will mean we will have to endure having to seem them lose games more often. Main reasons for concern is that quite a few other teams have well and truly matched us talent wise, and also our next coaching team to be may not be as good as the previous one. Also our own talent base is being diluted due to competition from other countries and other sporting codes.
@@silajeep1 Yep , it will be Interesting to see how this next period by the A.B's will unfold, no doubt the talent is there in N.Z from what I've seen in super rugby there plenty. It will come down to other countries maintain and develop their players in the next 4 year cycle. Looking forward to next W.C in France no doubt the N.hemisphere sides will want to take the honours
Maybe bafana also needs south african born coach to lead there team to success.and get rid of this import coaches that get a big fat cheq for doing nothing
I'm a proud South African right now. But not as proud as I am of Rassie. What a shrewd tactician he's shown himself to be. But while still maiintaining integrity and humility, never afraid to give credit where it is due. A true gentleman of the sport we love,
Dear Richie McCaw, living all my life in South Africa and recently moving to 🇬🇧 watching the WORLD RUGBY 🏉 Between 🇬🇧and South African from the north. It’s essential like people of your Calibre, pass on the respect to the new world leaders., you name will never be forgotten for your compassionate contribution into our lives. Thank you 🙏 is the lest we can do.
As a South African out of South Africa, Boks made me very proud, this side it was always about England winning the world cup no television station or radio station gave us a chance, at work they asked why is South Africas coach not saying anything I said his boys will say something on the match tomorrow, and they did. Very humble man down to earth. Salute!!!
Without being nasty…but let’s be honest, England has a tendency to hype their players so much they end up scaring them from reaching their full potential because they will play with massive nerves. I do watch rugby by football is my first love, I don’t think it’s by choice but rather by circumstances because I grew up in the time when there was zero exposure to rugby and remember that time one could not even see the springboks in action as SA was banned from international sport; so I’ll bring football players in as examples….Theo Walcott was taken to the World Cup at 17 and was a squad member even though he had a broken leg! Someone convinced the English that he was the next Pele, so he was labelled the ‘up and coming next best Thing in football’! Well, he’s about to retire and he’s still up and coming, just not in the direction everyone hoped for! Oxlaide-Chamberlain had the same hype, Peter Crouch, the lanky clumsiest man to ever play football was tipped to be the top goal scorer at one of the World Cup tournaments but he obviously was found wanting when needed because they were not playing the likes of Estonia and Montenegro at the World Cup like they were in the build up when they said all those things about him! With Roberto Carlos of Brazil still active and playing for Brazil they once declared Joe Cole the best left back in the World! The likes of Sterling got the same hype…and the list is endless!!!
Kamdeboo yet which ever team you support would kill for any of the current crop of Bok players to be playing for yours. Don’t worry - most European clubs feel the same way when they raid our schools.
Humble in Victory. Always putting the Team, the Management and the Country First. Well done the Bokke....Now the Country should use this to move forward and become an example to the World. This was their Destiny. Many records made this year, well done Rassie and Siya...
Interesting for the coach to mention destiny. For me the coach could only have referring to South Africa's 12 year cycle of destiny: 1995 RWC Champions in South Africa 2007 RWC Champions in France 2019 RWC Champions in Japan 2031 Destiny yet again
@ Sammy Fash : Why in German, plus the meaning of a name has no importance. We have it since birth or marriage. What about "Fash" in other languages...
