We have about the same profile and I have yet to find a chair that will satisfy me. I now have a hate for chairs with headrests because they're almost always too high for me and the curve for the neck usually aligns on my occiput. Really not comfortable. Hope you get to review more different chairs. Foot rest is definitely a must for people of our size!
The leg dangle 😂. Honest review, that's why I enjoy your channel. I can attest that from the other end of the spectrum at 6ft 235lbs it is very comfortable. I've had it for 6 months and the cushion has held up so far. I like the arm rest height as it's perfect during gaming. I hate that they keep moving. I also wish I had gotten a different color. I went for the black which is a dog hair magnet. Be curious to see how yours holds up to the pet hair 😁
A real chair! Not a repurposed simulation racing seat bolted to wheels sold as a “gamer” chair! Your OT credentials are showing. 😎 edit: Welcome to the anti-armrest movement. Life is better this way.
@@SwitchandClickOfficial Yeah, I’ve spent a lot of time using road cases as improvised chairs. I started learning classical piano from a young age so as long as I can get my feet flat and hands in a position to hover my wrists I’m kinda good to go. I sometimes wonder if the piano bench sitting style will become a trend. Anyways, I went through like three armrest styles of desk chair before realizing the solution was just ripping the damn things off.
Hey Bets ! Just when I was considering this chair for my huge back problems this morning and ordered it... Are you a medium of some sort ? :D I'm 5.5, so pretty small for a guy. Hope this will be ok for me anyway. Love from France.
This is one or my choices I like the looks and the quality seems pretty premium the brand and model here my country is different it is called flexispot ergochair alpha. My only problem is the fabric seat is I ended up buying the t50 air with mesh seat
I think you’ll fit well in a staples Hyken or steel series 1. The seat is too big for you. I cannot see you can dig your back because back of your knees is already flush to the cushion. I’m 5’ 7” and the chair is so big and hard still.
I've had this chair for 1.5 years now, I really like it - I'm 6'3 150lbs, so the armrests work for me. Took a while to adjust everything but well worth the effort to do so. Definitely don't feel any need to replace/upgrade it.
ok i'm about to order this chair in the next couple days.. i'm typing before watching your video.. but i am watching it through.. just wanted a fresh mindset when i ask is it worth the $379 for the red one of course. or should i shop elsewhere.. and 380 is actually over budget for me but i love the look and the adjustments
I've got a Hoganas Mobler +381, I never knew what I was missing out on before now, I've had it for 7 years and I can't go back.. Also no armrest crew represent. Glad to see you are expanding your channel into cool ergo products just like you'd planned!
I stand most of the day at the computer desk but I do have a Haworth solid metal Alodia stool. It looks like a torture device but it’s actually quite comfortable.
Really helpful, I’m only 5’ 2” so I have a lot of the same issues. My current chair is ok but I’ve been looking. I’m not a arm rest person. I lucked out when I got my chair, it’s arms were lost so I got it for 50% off which is a super bonus since I’ would have removed them anyway.
Your video actually explained everything about the chair 100% better than the Autonomous website ever did! Thank you so much. I have had the chair for over a year, and I now know how to use all the features after watching your video. Thank you again.
Hopefully chair makers are taking note. I prefer wooden chairs, but apart from my ancient oak teacher's chair, I don't see anything interesting out there.
Finding a chair is so important to us folks that spend a lot of time at the desk. I love the look of the Autonomous chairs and it was my top choice, but I am lucky enough to live in the vicinity of a nice used office furniture store and was able to grab a Humanscale liberty for $200. Great chair for a 6 foot 200lb guy like me who likes to cross their legs from time to time, and much more value and confort than the $100 big box chars that I was throwing away every year.
Oooh I know someone that has this chair and it is absolutely amazing, I agree with you on the arm rest a bit of a shame you can’t lower them more. This might be my next purchase honestly
@@SomeFrenchDude yeah but I don't think that really matters in this case. all these copycat DX racer style chairs still know to make the arm rests lock lol. just a poor design choice on this one
Could you compare this chair with the sidiz t50 more? i'm interested to know since the t50 is usually said to be the more "quality" product of the two, but I want to know the perspective of someone who's actually tried both :)
Hard to even tell the difference for most it it like the caster wheels or the back rest. Sidiz has better cushion imo you can take the cover off and clean it. Adjustments are pretty similar, except autonomous has more. If I didn't know better, I would say they're made in the same factory
I have this same chair and I'm taller than you but this chair is too high off the ground for me. If the chair were about 2 inches shorter (in line with most chairs), the armrests would fit under your table.
Herman Miller Aeron, Size A, for smaller people, B for medium and C for bigger / higher. its a endgame chair :) but love the review. keep changing up the items. love the randomness of the things you review but still in depth and with good quality :)
This video is SO helpful! Thank you for making it! I'm only 5'4 (also with a longer torso) and it's impossible to find a good chair that supports my size. I've just been using a kitchen table chair for my standing desk when it's in sitting height, and I think I'm going to buy this to upgrade my comfort.
I like this chair, a lot, but I can't sit straight, my spine hurts too much What is the logic for sitting straight? Gravity is crushing your spine this way, isn't it better to do it diagonally on a7-10 degree angle with a support down to hold your weight? I have no idea about orthopedics but it sounds like the less work you take away from your bones the better and having to deal with gravity for several hours doesn't sound too good. Maybe someone can correct me on this
Thinking about getting this chair for my wife. She uses my Aeron on the lowest settings whenever I get up and I come back to nearly falling on my ass every time lol.
@@SwitchandClickOfficial I lucked out and got a used one for $50 on offer up. If I ever find another one for under $350 I'd for sure get it. I think after this pandemic stuff I wont ever get that lucky again.
I have the same chair, I'm a bigger guy at 5'10 and around 175 lbs. The adjustability options and fit are wonderful. I'm not too much of a fan of its cushion though and I use a Purple Royal cushion to sit on. While a Herman Miller Aeron is ideal, the Ergochair 2 is an excellent affordable option.
