From a 60 year old that beat his body up for too long, I love the phrase "you can pay your doctor or pay your equipment guy" .....so true. Have a good weekend !
As an old timer with a beat up body I would like to thank the MB crew for the creation of the 2.0. The most supportive, comfy, and thoughtfully laid out saddle I have ever flown. Well played!
Great video 👍 Hope business picks up soon. Sending prayers , good thoughts and well wishes to all. Please take a moment this Memorial Day of respect 💜 Never Forgotten 💗
In every video, it's a little bit like watching a chess player who has planned their moves several steps in advance. Work smarter rather than harder. 👍
Ahhh Sweet... a new video and get to watch my favorite tree guy climb on my favorite RU-vid channel and hear words of wisdom !!!! Thank you very much Mr August ❤❤ Flyin to the Lake of the Ozarks in the morning for a short weekend 😊 I guess I'll have to see if Damien is still at Reons the first of the week and run up there 😁 Prolly should buy them all supper !!!
Also having a bad back from firefighting. I understand what / why you talk about it. One wrong move and you spend weeks on your back / heating pads etc. Plus having a dozen back injections. I feel for you. Hope the crew / family and you are doing well. God Bless (sorry if i repeat myself about back problems)
I know August times are hard here too buddy it's crazy times right now it's hard sometimes to even live I remember 8 years ago it was booming we were busy as ever we could save money easy now it's hard I understand what you're going through I do but we're strong and we will get through this definitely God bless stay safe
@@batmantiss yeah you're exactly right about probably 8 7 6 years ago I was doing good booming now everything is so different it's scary it really is I have a family to take care of and it is scary God bless you my friend
I do tree work for a living…..and I am watching tree work videos on my days off. As a 57 y/o I cannot change h who I am or want to. Thank you for providing content on a Saturday.
I’m too badass for ergonomics! I woke up one day and couldn’t roll out of bed by myself and could hardly walk without pain. Thanks to the MonkeyBeaver 1.0, I’m back in the trees and walking upright, like a human. Thank you August and crew for helping us out.
August you would be better off keeping your chipper you know the history of the beast , you can guarantee work will pick up if you sold it and you will be back to square one here in England it’s calling Sod’s Law .Hope the back pain eases I broke my back in the arm when I was 19 and suffered all my life so I feel your pain but like you I have still managed to live an active life where other people have not stay safe and god bless
Soo true, I used to load every thing by hand, but I have a tractor with a grapple now but I destroyed my back for years before I learned it’s cheaper to pay the equipment guy Thank you for making this video, it inspires me to keep going, doing something I love
We really appreciate when you talk about how you body feels, how you've learned to work smarter, so valuable to us younger folks. Thank you for the wonderful content, as always we look forward to the next video!
................G'day August, I am an 82yo motor cycle rider (see avatar) and I have been a "Metal-worker" all my life, so I sympathize. Cheers and God bless, Malcolm.
Great Video. Always a pleasure to watch ,and listen to August. Making me want a Monkey Beaver Saddle. I have a bad Back also. I learn alot from August.
Night and day difference when I upgraded from my old weaver belt to the monkey beaver 2.0. I 100% agree with you sir. Stay safe homie, happy Memorial day.
I'll suggest that after "doing it wrong, ergonomically" (I might also speak from experience), you became a member of a "New Tribe", so to speak. Not discounting the remarkable Monkey Beaver gear evolution beyond the remarkable NT foundational design/support (I own a MB 1.0, and am planning to contact "Sam" about a 2.0, details TBD), but I will always remember from whence the inertia of back support design swings and the locus of comfort springs. Shouts out to Sophie, Vi, Casey, Barbara, Laurie, and so many others. ❤ Climb safe through this fleeting Tree Life.
Those yellow "Shubberies" were Lydia Broom. Pink flowers were Siskyou Evening Primroses. I'll have to try that over the shoulder method next time I'm popping a top.
I feel you, this inflationary cycle is brutal, but some politicians love it cause they can collect more taxes. I had to let go of some equipment but held out for good offers. Buy once cry once but sometimes twice. It is prudent to let go of something underutilized. Psalm 90:17 May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us - yes, establish the work of our hands.
Enjoyed the video. I know of what you speak. I have problem hips from time to time. They rarely bother me when I'm climbing. I do run a MB 1.0 saddle and it's very supportive....but I could use more support. I'd like to move to a 2.0 at some time before I'm too old. Ha ha!
Bro...... I know this woman that was giving her knee therapy but she was doing stretching exercises too hard.... so she went and thought for sure she needed to have knee surgery.... They told her to stop all stretching and all home therapy... All the pain went away and the knee healed up... Too much of the wrong type of therapy is bad..... And if you're doing the proper stretching exercises.... When you do go to use your back it will give you that wonderful feeling that is the same feeling when you do a nice stretch... Which feels good... The no pain no gain thing only applies to certain things.
One time the smartest tree guy I know, who I've learned most of what I know from, told me a story about how he used to climb using only his flip line but that he cut it once and fell 40 feet....... I hope that guy takes his time to have two tie ins and is safe..... I would mail him a petzl Zillion but he sells them 🤪 Be safe buddy we care about you.
New climber here, I just got my Monkey Beaver 2.0 (woodland camo) a couple of weeks ago, and I absolutely love it! I won't bash any other equipment, but I will say that before I got my MB 2.0, I was borrowing various saddles from my co-workers, and the MB 2.0 is wayyyyy better!
Hey August, during one of your next videos could you show us how you descend on your rope? I’m from the east coast where we use a natural crotch or a friction saver and mainly climb DRT. We don’t often see climbers just clip back to their rope.
If only these youngsters would even listen to those of us who put in the years of HARD labor on our bodies...I'm 63 now and paying for every heavy lift I did as a, Industrial and commercial power utilities contractor...arthritis in my spine and both knees...it's not worth it kids!!!
I started climbing with spurs a few weeks ago. Although i climb with a flip-line and a "Hansesicherung" at the same time i am still afraid of falling down.... How do you manage not to be afraid when you are just climbing with one lanyard.? Maybe you can give me an advice to improve my skills?
I think he's saying skill but english /kjv uses the word wisdom. Proverbs 4 sure. Maybe "wisdom is profitable to direct" or "the wisdom of the wise will make a way for them"? Google it, or look up wisdom in a strongs Concordance.
You know, I say this as an aspiring arborist who doesn't know jack yet. But as much as you want to tell people to pay extra for your saddles, they don't really cost much (if any) more than other saddles. I don't see much reason at all to not get something comfortable and ergonomic
I am new to the channel. But I have to ask, does the State ever call You after a major incident such as a Tornado? I would think, that with your name already out there, and the State seemingly shocked every time an incident occurs, it only makes sense to call an Expert. I wouldn't mind seeing one of those videos. Just to see the before and after views.
Hi August, So this may be the wrong place to ask this but I have one of your monkey beaver 2.0 harnesses and I am having issues with the sides squeezing my hip bones and causing bruising. Is it a lack of padding or incorrect adjustment? Im 5’10” and 160 pounds. Just curious if you ever dealt with that issue before or is it something I will just have to build a tolerance to. The back support is really awesome though!
I have a suggestion. Loosen the legs and make it ride higher up on the sides. All the other saddles I’ve worn I’ve had to keep the legs tight and then adjust the waist. It seems opposite with this saddle. I may be wrong, but I may be right. Try it.
