Lina _ well i am a huge fan of Tory but you can’t say he only got recognition for remixes he’s made from old songs if you go to his RU-vid page right now you can see the views he’s got from songs he’s made himself and he’s just recently released an album. From what I seen from comment sections Eric is known as a songwriter more then an artist. So in the this day and age Tory is more popular.
