Started this Milky Way thing with a Lumix gh5 micro 4/3 . Now I want to go full frame. thinking of Sony a7III or the new Panasonic S5. Any thoughts ?

Get either Canon or Nikon, but Canon is better. All other brands have noise reduction algorithms that can't be turned off and ruin color of the stars and give problem if you want to use dark/bias to calibrate the photos. Nikon has them too but at least they are less severe, at least on the Z models.

Light painting is incompatible with an art form that celebrates the glory of the night sky. More tutorials on how to make the most of the natural light available at night will help fuel a movement away from light painting. It’s bad manners, like littering (with photons). Seeking out dark locations minimally impacted by light pollution, then lighting up the landscape with artificial lights? Hopefully such behavior will come to be regarded as unethical.

To each his own. The 'light source' is not environmentally damaging and can be used to express a different vision. It's not like you're in the middle of a star party and infringing on the joy of others.
