I’ve always been a fan of Eric’s specific brand of R&B. Jazzy, sophisticated, mature, tasteful. To me, it was grown folk music for the younger crowd. His contemporaries with this sound could be seen in the likes of Kenny Lattimore, Rahsaan Patterson, and of course Maxwell. A huge chunk, of course, stems from that era of both Mint Condition and Tony! Toni! Toné! But I think Eric is the king of this particular style
The level of prolific creative inspiration in this interview was truly exceptional! EB doesn't receive enough recognition for his brilliance. #keepRnBaliveandthriving
I am a true fan of EB!!!!❤Been listening since 1996. First album True To Myself- unspeakable soul bearing artistry. My two all-time favorite-Say Love with Jeff Lorber and Never Know What You're Missing with Marion Meadows. Smooth Jazz artist like these guys and still today feature real singers like October London on Boney James upcoming new album Slow Burn -All I Want Is You. CeCe Peniston did a song on that same Jeff Lorber in the 90s -Don't Forget The Love and you can hear EB dropping fire BG vocals ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
