Russo has said he'll debate Eric on this matter and Eric keeps ducking. It shows who is telling the truth. Russo's story has always remained the same whilst Eric's version is different on every shoot interview he's done on the matter. So Eric is now trying to say that Russo went against Brad Siegel and nothing happened? Russo would have also breeched Hogan's contract; which did go to court and was thrown out not once.. but twice. C'mon Eric, give it up.

There's a difference between a perspective and straight lies. Russo is guilty of manufacturing a reality that did not exist in WWF and WCW. Bischoff has a perspective of what happened that no one else can since no one else held his position and did not have the insight into the workings of things that he did. Russo was simply a writer that got too big for his role, Bischoff was the leader of a company that nearly brought down Vince McMahon, which we now know can only be done by Vinces own penis and nothing else.

Eric B is your go-to pot for all things culinary and Russo is the kettle your grandmother gave you in the attic. Given how successful he was compared to Russo, there really isn’t a comparison between the two. If Bishoff is a liar, Russo is living in another reality.

I have listened to Hogan, Jarrett, Russo, Booker, Eric, and others discuss this situation for years. No two accounts are the same, but from what I can discern, it is clear to me that everyone but Hogan and Eric were on board with Russo's plan. I think they just placated Eric and Hogan long enough to get to where they wanted to go, and work around Hogan's creative control clause. The fact that there were no repercussions on Russo for doing this clearly indicates that the VIPs were on board with what Russo was doing. As much as I personally can't stand Russo, I don't think he went into business for himself. I think everyone but Hogan and Eric knew what he was going to do. If they didn't, they wouldn't have kept Russo after an incident like that.

Eric has been clear about the fact that they agreed on everything up to the part where Hogan and Eric were supposed to leave the building. However, Russo clearly took the opportunity to implement his own version of the plan, because Sharmell, Konnan, and Lance Storm all said that everything that everything Russo said in the ring wasn't mentioned on their programs. In later videos, Eric said that since Sting disclosed some of what he was doing that he felt a tiny bit more comfortable in saying that Sting was in a messed up place and they were hoping to hide it with that botched ending. When you combine all accounts: The reason for the discrepancies: The finish was changed from the original plan of Sting winning clean; the change was decided a few hours prior to the PPV, in where Hogan was set to win (Hence, Eric telling Nick that it would be a regular count), Hogan reiterated this to Nick when they spoke (slow count just meant regular/decisive; 3 actual seconds), but ultimately it was changed to be a fast count, which involved capitalizing on the Bret Hart Screwjob, angle... The last thing Nick was told about his involvement in the actual finish was by Sting, informing him that it now involved a fast count (rapid fire baby)... Everyone else that were in need of knowing the new finish were also informed of the change (Nick says he was busy handling other matches throughout the night... Hence, Sting's relay...) Nick says prior to the match, that he could not find Eric to confirm the change, so he went with an in between count: fast and regular, "so no one gets what they want"... For Nick to say that he could not find Eric to confirm the change, when Eric's match was the one that preceded the mainevent suggests this claim to obviously be of embellishment... Before the match, as seen in the PPV; before Sting's entrance: Hogan and Nick have a conversation (as you can find and see for yourself, if you have means of watching the HQ version): (Nick asks the first part, off screen) Hogan: "Help me do what?" Nick: "Help you setup the false finish" Hogan: "Mm..ahhh, give me about 14 minutes..." Nick: "Alright." (As he is turning and heading towards the camera, to ring side; to relay this information; so Hart can be informed...) (Hogan continues taunting around the ring...) (The announcers knew; the wrestlers knew; Bischoff knew; production knew and Nick knew (but He claims he questioned whether it was correct: So, he did an in between, whilst also stating it was much faster than the pin counts you find in the WWF...) Bret Hart has explained that he confronted the ref, backstage: "What happened, It was supposed to be a fast count", and Nick said: "Oh, I forgot..." (Nick even expected to be fired; He knew he should have performed a more convincing; faster count; he also actually believes the count he performed was indeed fast...) On top of all this: Hollywood Hogan (the hottest heel in wrestling at the then peak of WCW and nWo popularity) intentionally making himself the babyface of the match, is one of the dumbest things one could actually believe took place on that night (it would benefit no one)...
@cryptocon.
@cryptocon. 3 месяца назад
Also, consider: the inclusion of Bret Hart into the finish, as a result of the trepidations into how well Sting might perform in the match and as champion; less than as effectively, as focused and as believable as they were expecting, (ultimately, opting to still give the audience and the fans what they wanted, and came there to see), is in fact a testament to the trust they obviously had in Bret Hart, to help deliver (as they seen it) a more affective, impactful, meaningful and believable finish... Whilst also creating an angle that could best utilize Bret Hart as much as legally possible (with a broken hand, during his non-compete clause period) whereby (off the heels of the Montreal Screwjob; the month prior) capitalizing on the still trending, hottest wresting controversy at the time, with Bret set to prevent another Screwjob of its own, from being carried out by the nWo; during the most anticipated wrestling match of the time, on the then highest rated wrestling program, in the world... (And All Nick Patrick had to do was perform the fast count, which everyone involved knew was supposed to occur and they were all expecting to see...)

Vince has corroborated Eric's story. The unplanned circumstances were the shoot promo that Terry thought was a step too far, and believed that Vince had slandered his Character... Vince says the reason he did the shoot, was: for what transpired with Hogan and Jarret to make sense, and that he may have gone too far (He also said he was told not to call Hogan, (even though he told him he would), as WCW could no longer afford Hogan; Vince takes responsibility in not calling Hulk, when he should have, to explain the situation)... So, I'm not sure of how Booker T getting the belt, that night, was argued as not being a part of the (albeit, new) plan? Has Eric said that it wasn't?
@XtremeEffect
@XtremeEffect 3 месяца назад
@@cryptocon. His recent retelling of the story was that Hulk was supposed to come back at Halloween Havoc with the belt. He acts like he didn't know anything about Booker T. He said last week that the promo was just Russo going into business for himself and doing what HE wanted to do and that wasn't the plan and he got the company sued. Penzer told Eric that Booker was told to bring a suit to Nitro because it was planned in advance that Booker was leaving that show with the title. Eric, backed into a corner, told Penzer that he believes Russo hurried and got with Brad Siegel after they left the building and came up with everything else that happened. But he made it clear that what Russo did wasn't what Hulk wanted to do. Still never gets asked what was gonna fill the rest of the PPV time. Where Eric is full of shit is, back in 2018 when 83 Weeks covered this topic, Eric couldn't remember hardly anything from this event or most events from WCW's history and Conrad was always making fun of him for saying he didn't remember

This so called reason he says is no reason to blast him to everyone 25 years later because the two biggest crybabies in wrestling didnt get what they want one night of the year. If Russo went into business for himself and Biscoff and Hogan never did is proposterous. He is bent over what he himself and his business parter only ever do and he is the only one to challenge Biscoff and Hogan so he had to be 'made inferior'. WOW... Telling Russo to put a gun in his mouth is FUCKING NUTS and I just lost any respect I had for Eric. No one feels this strongly over one booking decision and has the right or responsibility to suggest suicide because they 'just dont trust him' Why? What might he do? This makes no sense. Russo doesnt even talk shit about Eric or Hogan so I aint buying why Conrad aint pressing harder here. Eric with the Stutter, word soup, living anger, lack of empathy, justification, zero accountabliity, playing the vivtim, wishing harm, no regret involving others, questioning morals of others...NEED I LIST MORE?? He is not telling the whole story, unless of course it's NPD and that IS the whole story. If anyone buys this garbage, I have a Duke Drosey autographed rookie pog on ebay. At least come up with your own reason to dislike someone based on actual first hand knowledge, cuz having listenend to both accounts more than I ever waned to need to, but this is one of the DUMBEST excuses I have ever heard and I have heard some of Russo's thoughts and they may be far out or wildly overdramatic but never cold or harmful or hateful. People who threaten the integrity of the business are actually the ones who attack those who threaten to expose the integrity of the people doing the business. To say Russo is more about going into business for himself than Eric or Hogan or their legal team makes Eric look pretty pety if he thinks Russo is beneath him. They are both business men, just different ends of the shame schtick.

if Russo went behind tie breakers back (Siegel) how come he was not sent home after Bash at the Beach due to going to a business for himself refusing to do what tie breaker wanted? Problem with Eric's response: Why did ERIC need to leave the building? The only logical is that Russo suggested he do it, because it wouldn't make kayfabe sense for the owner/booker to be there while Russo was out cutting a promo. Russo would only have cut a promo (kayfabe) if nobody was there to stop him. What LIKELY happened, is that Hogan didn't like WHAT Russo said, and convinced Eric to go against the whole gimmick after the fact. But Eric leaving is the main clue that Russo is at least telling part of the truth.

Flag on the play, Eric. I have to call a foul. You won't do business with someone like Vince Russo whom you call a liar, but you will do business with a man like Hulk Hogan, whose lies have been well-documented on this very platform? Also, let's be clear about something: The wrestling business is about 80% lies, both on-screen and off, Eric. This shouldn't come as a surprise to you or anyone else reading this lol who was promised a "push," but didn't get it, who was promised a world title run, but never got it, blah blah blah. The list goes on. But yes, I do agree with you on one point. Seeing that Brad Siegel dude for the first time ever since this whole story started years ago, I have say, he seems a bit cagey. He's your typical corporate shleb. Lie until you get caught, then blame someone else. I absolutely believe he'd go behind your back and change things without you or Hogan around. I do seem to recall Russo mentioning in one of those shoot interviews that Siegel was the one who told him not to call Hogan or book him for any more shows after this incident because WCW couldn't afford to pay him, anymore.

I agree with everything Eric said about Vince. I was a WCW fan, and Russo brought that NY shit to WCW. Long matches and realistic storyline are what we craved. However, Eric, why was Hogan still trying be champion in 2000? That's a huge missed in your perspective. Your problem with Hulk was: you needed a little Vince McMahon in you dealing with Hulk. Had to put your foot down with him with working with younger talent. But Vince Russo was bullshit.
@DWtechfan
@DWtechfan 3 месяца назад
This is why Eric gets a bad reputation amongst the smarter wrestling fans. I don’t think Russo tells the truth all the time but I do think he’s more honest at times than Bischoff is. Why do I say that? Eric is still lying about the Starrcade 97 ending almost 30 years later. And he’s holding a grudge against Russo for Bash At The Beach 2000? I’d say that blame is split between Eric and Hogan too for what happened. What’s the common denominator between Starrcade 97 and BATB 2000? I’ll give you a hint, he wears red and yellow brother! Eric is the ultimate dick rider when it comes to Hulk Hogan and he’s actively lying about those two events out of loyalty to Hulk. The fact is, Hulk Hogan was probably one of the biggest draws WCW ever had but he also was a cancer because he pulled “that doesn’t work for me, brother” with his creative control far too much. Hogan didn’t want to lose to Sting at Starrcade so he told Nick Patrick to count nice and slow at the end. Nick Patrick has said that in numerous interviews. At BATB 2000, the Hulkster tried to pull the same BS again only Russo wouldn’t allow it. No matter whether you loved or hated Jeff Jarrett, he was a new top star which WCW desperately needed new talents in the main events. But Hogan thought he should beat Jarrett so he and Bischoff decided to do what they did with Brad Siegel. Hulk also knew Russo wanted Booker T to win the WCW championship ultimately on that show but he wanted to squash that too. Now, even if you agree Hulk should’ve beaten Jarrett, there’s no way he deserved to beat Booker T or actually totally replace him altogether. Booker T being WCW champion was a big highlight of WCW in those last two years. If Hulk and Eric had their ways, that would never have happened. And the fact that Eric said he didn’t care whether Russo took a polygraph test proves that he was probably lying himself. I don’t hear Bischoff volunteering to take that same lie detector test. That’s because he’d probably have a 20 inch Pinocchio nose and his pants would be on fire if he were asked to elaborate during a polygraph.
