Most were high back in the 1960/1970s. Eric reminds me a bit of Robert Plant in that each time he sang a song it was a bit different. Loved his music since I first heard back in the mid 1960s

Eric was told by someone in the old school of blues to never sing a song the same way twice, that is why he is horrible at lip syncing songs. But he is an amazing singer.

Love it or hate it, this performance is the essence of this man. Eric Burdon is a prodigy much in the way Stevie Winwood is. He sang this song when he was much younger and from that video he looks like he's seen the world already, thus he embodied the song... This performance shows the song now embodying HIM. And he cannot break its spell...Love you, Eric.

IT WAS PERFECT IN THE 60`S. THEY RECORDED IT IN FOUR HOURS. HOWEVER ERIC WANTED TO CHANGE IT UP THRU THE YEARS FOR A LOT OF REASONS. FOR ONE REASON HE NEVER WAS PAID FOR THE SONG OR THE ROYALTIES THROUGH THE YEARS. HIS VOCALS AND HIS ARRANGEMENT IS WHAT MADE THE SONG SO GOOD TOO AND TO NEVER GET WHAT HE DESERVED PERFORMING IT SUCKED. ALAN PRICE GOT IT ALL. IT WAS A FLUKE THING. WHEN THEY MADE IT AND HAD TO SIGN THE PAPERWORK THERE WAS ONLY ROOM FOR ONE SIGNATURE AND THEIR MANAGER PICKED ALAN BECAUSE HE DID THE ALPHABETICAL ORDER WAY NEVER THINKING THEY COULDN`T TRUST HIM AND THEY COULDN`T. REALLY SAD. AS FAR AS I`M CONCERNED ITS ERIC`S SONG FOR SURE. LOVE IT AND LOVE ERIC !!
