Damn right! I love Peter Criss but I'm not one of those who can't admit the truth and he could mop the floor with Peter and many others with his skills. And you are also correct, a fantastic human being.
R.I.P. As a man, as a man that served our great country as a U.S. Marine, and as a Masters Amateur Boxer (2X Desert Showdown World Champion), I'm not ashamed to admit and I'm secure enough in my manhood to acknowledge that I broke down and shed some tears when I found out Eric Carr passed. He was a good man and he was very humble. I'm a Christian now, and I pray that my LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST comforts the Carr family and those that don't know my LORD JESUS CHRIST in his family get saved.
Was fortunate enough to see KISS with Eric Carr. He was amazing and seemed like a very down to earth guy. Not at all big headed like Gene. So sad and I remember his death like it was yesterday. I didn't even know he was sick and then all of a sudden he was gone.
BasedRogue I completely agree, if Carr were still around, he would even tell you himself that there is no best drummer in Kiss, such a wonderful guy, how I miss him
Eric Carr playing his ass off not knowing he would leave us all within a year so sad glad I got to see him live R.I.P. we all love and miss your playing......
I wish I where to see him but I was born 18 years later I’ve watched many videos with him playing and he always seemed happy in them (or serious face but you can tell he loved it)
I never got to see the great Eric Carr ! One of the best drummers ever in I Our time or kisstory! I’m so sorry my drummer brother, you are the best kiss ever had ! RIP🍀🍀🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🍀🍀
I went with a friend of mine to see kiss during their Hot in the Shade tour saw them in Amarillo tx back in 1990 I wish I would have been up in the front row right buy the stage after Eric's drum solo he gave away his drum sticks. I wish I would have gotten them. Rip Eric Carr. one of my all-time influences.
This is a real awesome clip to view. Thanks a lot for posting. I missed out on seeing who they were in person when I was a teenager. The clips everyone pushes on RU-vid makes my mind to stop from wondering what it may have been like? Rock out, rock and KISS rocks very well, yea!
The mix does not do this justice...snare is too far up front compared to toms and the kicks....and those toms...ugghh...the sound man should have been tossed! Eric Carr would have smoked Eric Singer all day! I hate the way Paul talks about him in his book...the audio books seems even worse... RIP Eric! We all know you're the best!!
MM
Why did his mix always sound like crap??!! I HATE how his drums sound. Talented drummer, even better person. Would've sounded a lot better if he didn't go for the "in thing' and double kick like a nut and bang away on the toms/snare with no thought..Sounds like the same ol' solo he always did...Let's see some of his funk that we know he had in him...Rest in Peace, Eric!! You rocked!
Ok Eric was Great but Faster doesn't mean better & he would be the first to tell you he wasn't better then Peter Criss he was different, rock & jazz are totally in diff time RIP Eric Who was a terrific Drummer!
Eric Carr is great. Love his solos- but that snare has to be right up there with Metallica's St Anger as one of THE most annoying drum sounds of all time. Jesus- it's like a cheese grader to my ears!
Drum solos are part of a live show, but I get bored about them. I'd rather hear the songs than drum solos. Bands could easily play a couple of more songs rather than drum solos.
It's creative and all but the snare sounds horrible. Eric was a good, solid drummer. But "the best"? Let's be realistic. He was good for what he did. As I've gotten older, there's very few solos that I can still listen too. They just bore me.
Being able to play drums fast does not make you a great drummer. Eiric could play drums fast, but he lacked the technical and creative skill tha we can see on other drummers. Like bill Ward and many others. The ability to change rythm and pace many times during a song. Drummers that comes from both blues and jazz background. Respectfully..
Battlenude he wasn't playing in the stones it was straight forward rock, Phil Rudd from AcDc never deviated from his same style you clown! If you look at Eric Carrs earlier career he was playing in folk bands and R&B bands, I cant stand it when you have someone like you who thinks he knows everything about music and you comment, but really at the end of the day your talking from behind, just shut it and just enjoy instead of whining!
Eric carr was a bad ass drummer and one of the best also in my book anyway and i think he was the best drummer KISS had I'm glad i had a chance to see him for the Asylum tour and my first Kiss concert as well i wish he was still alive but Rest in peace and hopefully your playing drums with the Angels who make music for God.miss you bud
This is just epic. Imagine this solo in Kiss Symphony, with the orchestra replacing the electronic drum parts, that would have been out of this world! RIP Eric Carr
