Clapton ha sempre espresso la sua ammirazione per Johnson ritenendolo il miglior chitarrista blues mai esistito, questo - come altri pezzi suonati al Crossroads tipo If I Had Possession Over Judgment Day - sono quelli che si chiamano OMAGGI, non minestra riscaldata.

@JustinChauGuitar Hendrix is a blues guitarist, altough he sounds like psychedelic rock he still played blues. You may check out band called The Dead Weather - they sound nothing like blues but they still play blues, because blues is more about truth and emotions than about what you sound like, you know, it may be a bit confusing but after some time you'll start seeing blues in every good piece of music, which is great in my opinion ;)
eric clapton bet the devil his soul that he was a better guitar player than him... he won and when the devil gave him the golden guitar, he didn't accept it because he now had possession over judgement day.. and then he changed the world.
@LueyLuvaexthe13th sooo not, i say u better go hear some real blues like albert king , muddy waters,jimi hendrix, howlin wolf, big bill broonzy, and todays buddy guy, claptons good but there are better blues artists
haha no he absolutely did not! Blues foremost is a feeling! NOT music! Blues is first blues as YOU know it, when the deltas picked up their guitars, and started putting music on the blues!
I should have explained better, the recorded version on "Me and Mr. Johnson" includes a harmonica which adds a lot to the song. definitely worth a listen
