Never understood why he was never knighted, Sir Eric Clapton is more appropriate to say the least. He ranks as one of the very best and generous musician to date and should be rewarded as Sir Eric Clapton...
I've thought that for years.... All his work for Princes Trust, and Crossroads Centre....plus his music... How does Rod Stewart get one and Eric doesn't!
How he's made it to 75 I'll never know but I'm pleased he has ,been a big influence on me it's his fault I picked up the guitar got my own collection now 16 🎸🎵
Thanks for the vid . I would love to spend an after noon with Eric . Just ride along in one of his cars and listen to his stories what a day that would be 🎶
Listen ! People to what I say.. Eric Patrick, slowhand , you know you are not God, you have been gifted as the best harp (guitar). Player of all time... as a young boy I watched you thru yardbird territory for your love, into the white room with dark curtains at the Cream of greatness.. Remember God is not interested in your net worth, rather the price HE paid for you... There are a million roads to Hell and no exits... You can't change yourself, but if you ask God to HE will.... Money doesn't cut it in Heaven.... neither do tears in Hell.
FOR HISTORY TRUE MR ERIC CLAPTON ; GOD ,SLOWHAND, SOME BOOKS VERY INTÉRESSANTS ,FROM AMATORS INTERESSED FOR TRUE STORY FOR THIS SUPERB SONGWRITTER AND PLAYER GUITAR . JACKYFAN 👍FRENCH FAN SINCE.
I travelled from the North of Scotland to Glasgow, stayed in a hotel, all to see Eric Clapton at the SECC. Clapton played a set of about four tunes, then ended the performance blaming the sound system. He could have entertained his audience with acoustic numbers but for his arrogance and careless disregard for his audience. We got no apology from Clapton or from the SECC management. I would never go to another Clapton gig and I wuld never go again to the SECC.
In case you want to correct it, the woman pictured with EC at 2:56 is the Hawaiian singer and actress Yvonne Elliman, who toured with Clapton's band in the 70s. The woman who managed the Monserrat studios and with whom Clapton's had a daughter out of wedlock is named Yvonne Kelly. As it happens, by EC's own admission, he also shacked up with Elliman. Cheers!
Sex, Drugs, spousal abuse, and Rock&Roll. Glad he found a reliable compass and changed course. I fully agree Mr. Clapton is undoubtedly a great musician, one of many. Do you think he picked up anything along the way with his countless calibrations and sessions with other great players? Lucky to have seen EPiC three times, I wasn’t straight and sober either. Yeah, we all have our crosses to bear. Eric surely has paid his dues on the fretboard as well as life.
His most original work was with Cream and Blind Faith...his English bands. As a "bluesman," he is as derivative as he is polished. Almost a Pat Boone of the blues guitar.
He long been my hero, but didn't know he was so wealthy. Guess l would be the poor man's Clapton, if l could ever be as good a guitarist as him. Great video.
he is a liar, that was ''just a song '' . I own a Porsche Boxster S and i can smash it into any of his cars and not worry if my car gets damaged . EC is a pretentious pompous POS and i heard in an argument that he pitched his son out off the 55th floor of a tower
This would have been so much better if the narrator knew what he was talking about and could properly pronounce simple things like Ferrari Dino, Yardbirds & John Mayall.
He along with jimi, beck, page, green, bloomfield all collectively help pen and bridge the gap between traditional blues and rock n roll. His most influential contributions were his work with Mayall, cream, blind and derek and the dominoes. I can see why some would listen to clapton and think, he's not doing much. But that to me was his strong suit. They called him slow hand because he only played what was essential to the song. I personally think jimi is better simply because jimi had both a unique lead sound and rhythm sound, whereas Eric's thumbprint is essentially only on his lead playing. Anyways not trying to change your mind, just trying to show why some musicians hold him in such high regard. Cheers 🙏
It is about this life because once you die and are buried, that is it. There is no afterlife, no pearly gates in heaven and being reunited with loved ones. It will be just like before you were born - nothing!
As a 67 year old African-American who grew up listening to rock, today and for years, I have had little interest in it. It peaked in creativity decades ago. Clapton never particularly interested me. My grandparents and parents played Blues records in their homes so I grew up listening to the real deal. Lots of Lightnin' Hopkins, Howlin' Wolf, and Jimmy Rushing. I prefer the real deal.
