Eric Clapton is an in international guitarist, singer and songwriter renowned for his hits “Wonderful Tonight,” “Pretending,” “Call Me The Breeze,” “Forever Man,” “My Father’s Eyes,” “Change The World,” and “Layla.” He worked with artists like B.B. King, Roger Waters, Peter Frampton, and George Harrison - amassing billions of global streams and is the only three-time inductee to the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”
Lyrics:
Some like this and some like that
And some don't know where it's at
If you don't get loose, if you don't groove
Well, your motor won't make it and your motor won't move
Bow-legged woman doing the boogaloo
She got a jive, she got a move
Turn around, do it again
Bow-legged woman, where you been
Fat Jack owns a honky-tonk downtown
You can catch a woman if you hang around
You can tear down the door, tear down the wall
Fat Jack he don't care at all
Easy come, easy go
Anyway the wind blows
Hey, drummer, drummer, can you give me that beat
Can you give me that beat, got to move my feet
Guitar player been all around the world
But he can't play a lick for looking at the girls
One two three four five six seven
Well, you'd better change your ways or you won't get to heaven
Eight nine ten, gonna stop at eleven
Eleven just lays around with seven
If time don't tell you then don't ask me
I'm riding on a hurricane down to the sea
If you can't hear the music, turn it up loud
There's movement in the air and movement in the crowd

I honestly think that Clapton worshipped JJ Cale in his own way. Said that JJ was largely behind his coming out of hell in the seventies. Then he just launched into that Tulsa sound era which I just love. Most of his band were from Tulsa at one point. You'd think it would be JJ worshipping Clapton, but it isn't. I love these clips of them playing live together. And without Clapton, we might never have even heard of JJ Cale. Their relationship is a pretty cool story ♥

Cale is Jesus, Clapton his disciple its that simple. They are so perfect playing and singing together. So sad JJ left us too soon, he was a great musician and wonderful human being and wish to God I might have seen him play live knowing more and more Blues greats every day. They are like two brothers to each other and to see how they interact in performances shows it. How wonderful and some people are always on Clapton for what I know not, he seems to always be good to everyone playing with him.

This is the true meaning of "imitation is the highest form of flattery". Clapton always gave J.J. Cale credit and worked with him whenever he had the opportunity. He didn't just steal a sample, or remade the song, without giving the original artist credit. Mad respect.

My first groovy song I liked from JJ CAle when it was released many years ago was 'I'll make love to you any old time'. With the advent of RU-vid, I was able to explore all the great songs I fancied and of course JJ Cale's songs were played also. Firstly, I didn't realise JJ Cale wrote 'After Midnight' covered by Eric Clapton. Also, I didn't know this man can match Eric in guitar skills and I didn't know that he has such a beautiful wife playing with him. Her smile could light up the world. I'm sure JJ is still strumming his stuff high above the clouds.
@Robin-Cale17
@Robin-Cale17 11 месяцев назад
dudefox7685, JJ never thought of himself as a good singer. In fact he thought he sang off-key. He shied away from the spotlight. He wrote _After Midnight,_ but not as a rocker. So when he took it to some record labels, they turned him down flat. He lived in obscurity in Oklahoma. One day he heard _After Midnight,_ covered by Eric. He was thrilled, because he said he would have money, but didn't have to perform, but he also wrote _Cocaine_ which was recorded by Eric. Lynyrd Skynyrd recorded _Call Me the Breeze._ The royalty money allowed JJ to tour as it suited him. He also was known as the man who invented the "Tulsa Sound." Eventually he moved to Los Angeles, but he lived in a trailer with no phone. He was really wary of what fame did to people. Eric Clapton asked him to produce an album for him, but they ended up, recording the album together: _The Road to Escondido._ 😊

So happy to have seen JJ live at the Hammersmith Odeon, 1976. He sorta snuck on stage, just like another band member... Not a starry type, just a great musician and songwriter, who inspired others and brought other great musicians together with him.

That's a real Fearsome four up there - all in the groove, playing with taste and restraint. I love it!

Particularly impressive was how after a minute-plus of "chunking" intro, and looking at each other, thinking, "OK, when do we start singing..?" they both came in together... and every subsequent word-perfect verse... This may look and feel ultra laid back, but it's actually very tight..! Nice.....

I got to see JJ in a side tent at the first Crossroads Festival. He was playing with James Burton and some younger guys, he was so humble. I’ve read he was painfully shy, but he was super nice and talked with the surprisingly small crowd there to hear them, maybe 50 people. Really a musician’s musician. He was symbiotic with EC.

This is one fantastic piece of video and music!!!! Did anyone see the young Derek Trucks watching & learning what he could from these two legends??

Derek is a true Student. Watch him on any stage with the legends. He watches and learns. He knows how good he is but like Randy Rhodes, he's always seeking knowledge from the Masters.

So appreciative that Clapton is leaving a wealth of great footage of musicians playing and interacting with each other through music, whether it was Clapton at 70, all the Crossroads festival footage and now this! He's forever been a messenger of music and to be able to watch the interactions that takes place within the improvised music is a valuable valuable lesson! Something we just dont see much of nowadays. Just watch how he and JJ interact, while Doyle and Trucks watch as well. Brilliant!

Agreed - the quality that went into the Sessions for Robert J and Cream at the Royal Albert Hall are unrivaled in term of video and sound quality and really set the bar for all others

Amen to that Mena, i appreciate someone who notices this! We just arnt seeing these great Musical Philanthropists so to speak just George Harrison, Jim Croce or Jerry Garcia on the scene... Wish i was in my 20's during the late 60's early 70's. Cars, Guitars the women and the euphoric avail-abilities ;). All the best!
