EdD5 you feel better after being snide and sarcastic with someone who you don't even know? I wasn't saying what the song was about! That's pretty self-explanatory. I was saying this is how a woman wants to be looked at by the man in her life.
@@Legend27999 Despite what Cursed Bird and other toxic social media outlets may say, women remain women and like to be complimented as such. This will never change.
Because the world is inherently evil now. Toxic social media has corrupted minds. People now prefer to see pain and suffering. Where is the Love? I don't know...
My husband died 10 years ago. He played guitar and had a great singing voice. This was our song. When he sang it, even with lots of people around, when he got to the part 'you just don't realize how much I love you', he ALWAYS turn and looked into my eyes. Makes me tear up just thinking about it.
Patti Boyd, the woman this is about, probably had more rock songs written about her than any other woman in history. Edited to add, he also wrote Layla about her.
@@thegoodthings2878 I would say that probably applies to 90% of the music out there. Dramatizations of their life, like movies and books. I don’t think anyone expects the songs to be non fiction.
@@thegoodthings2878 george wasnt abusive, he was distant. He went through the weird phase when he got too into the Indian stuff, and was sleeping with Ringos wife. But, and I adore and admire Pattie, she was having dozens of affairs at the time too.. famous ones like Ronnie Wood. She and her sister Jenny had lots of fun, it was the summer of love. Eric was very crappy and a junkie. Always admired how close George, eric and pattie stayed, till georges death. Dysfunctional youth, matured well.
My uncle sounded identical to Clapton in his singing and guitar playing.. At my wedding reception I had he and the band play this for my wife and I for our first dance.. Til the day he passed away, if we were out where his band was playing, Don would be sure to play it for us...
Has any other woman, other than Patti Boyd, has had so much love, expressed to her,in song,by two of the world’s greatest singer-songwriting,musician,geniuses.
So he wrote this song about Patty Boyd his then wife.......He also wrote Layla about patty because he was in love with her when she was married to His best friend George Harrison of the Beatles who also wrote songs about her. I feel like she might be the person that has the most songs written about her
Layla Is also a hundred years old story of Persian love triangle. That's where Clapton got the title . Remember the Beatles and Clapton were into the India thing and went there.
Funny thing was even when Pattty was with Clapton, he and Harrison were best friends . I've even read where Harrison would call Clapton and ask him how our bird is. Bird is English slang for girl
Every guy who's ever fallen truly in love with a woman puts this song on the stereo or requests it anywhere they can request songs when they're with the woman they love. It might be one of if not the most popular first dance songs at every wedding. A true classic by Eric Clapton.
Clapton wrote Layla and Wonderful Tonight and Bell Bottom Blues for Pattie. George wrote Something In The Way She Moves and at least one other for Pattie. Apparently, she was quite a woman.
To see your face when he sang "That you just don't realize how much I love you" the smile and then the like Ahh face you made was precious. You're a Sweetheart!
It’s a shame that there people aren’t writing love songs like this anymore. Surely we still fall in love and need a gentle song for swaying with someone special. That also goes for heartfelt songs about longing for another person and painful breakups.
Patti Boyd and Eric Clapton were heading to a party hosted by Linda and Paul McCartney, It was a Buddy Holly party back in 1976-77 when he wrote this song as a love song to her. Also he wrote Layla and George Harrison wrote Something about British supermodel and photographer Patti Boyd.
No, it’s not corny. My son and DIL danced their first dance to this at their wedding reception, in 2011. This song came out in 1978 ( I think ), and it’s just timeless.
You are wonderful.... wonderful to night.... and I do meant it.... truly cause you are glad listening and you are so adorable you will find your special person... I promise
This song is the apitome of what love looks like. Two people constantly caring about each others emotional well being. The unity of becoming a team, and feeling proud to call her his wife. 🥲
This is the first song that my wife and I dance to over 32yrs ago, and we never sat it out, we were out as much as possible on weekends at local clubs and they always play this song, and Angel Eyes by Jeff Healy, which I saw someone mentioned in the comments . Definitely a amazing song.
Clapton is a best friend of Phil Collins. Should try Bad Love by Clapton, of which Phil produced and played drums on. As well as backing vocals. Great tune
Song he wrote for his best friend George Harrison's wife Patti Boyd who he ended up married to after she left George, he also wrote Layla for her. George wrote " something" for her too.
Omgoodness Jayy I just realized that I've never paid attention to the lyrics before 😲 I am literally melting and eyes tearing. This song IS beautiful 😍
Anyone that has not heard the live version from the 24 Nights CD it is worth listening to. It is stretched out to 9 minutes and has awesome singing and guitar play.
this makes me feel like I'm missing out on something being single, I'm always happy being single but this type of stuff makes me think about finding that special girl
The line of how much I love you is all ANYONE wants to hear. Women and men. This song is one of a kind. True music. REAL MUSIC. there still are some good guys out here. As well as women. Hard to believe but it's true. Great reaction
Written about Patti Boyd(Sister of Jenny Boyd, who was married to Mick Fleetwood, from Fleetwood Mac) Patti was the only woman to have 3 songs written about her that all reached No 1.....but she wasn't able to have children.
Beautiful song my late husband use to play his guitar and sing this it's a very emotional song for me brings back memories I love listening to it ,,thanks for your reaction ✌️❤️💯
I now enjoy Eric Clapton's mellower songs, especially the acoustic guitar "unplugged" versions. This one us my favorite of his. They lyrics make me want this played at my wedding reception as the first dance with my lovely bride.
This song played by live band we hired for my sister wedding she shocked surprised her honey picked their wedding song oh hells bells I had tell our band start practicing this song it’s the wedding song omg it so awesome beautiful 😻 my baby sister cried for all we did for her special day 💕💕💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️
Patti Boyd had three songs written for her this when she was married to Eric Clapton. Layla by Eric Clapton when Patti was still married to George Harrison. George Harrison wrote Something for Patti when they were married. It was a strange triangle between them. She ended up divorcing both of them. The funny thing is George and Eric were best friends the whole time. RIP George
Ive seen him 5 times and every concert was perfect. Mad crush on him since about 1969. Darn lm getting old ,but a lucky lady to live with this music throughout my life. Nice reaction. Looks like you appreciate EC.
This Song was written for his wife, Patti Boyd. If You Liked This one You should Listen to a song her First Husband wrote for her... George Harrison (the Beatles) "Some thing".
My ex-husband and I are huge Clapton fans (saw him 4X), We have a son with Autism who was non verbal until one day I was dancing and singing with him to this song. All of a sudden out came his first words (at 5 years old) "Wonderful Tonight", this song is very special to me. Music can reach the unreachable.
